JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Washes, cleans, and maintains general housekeeping at machine work positions to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met. Removes major burrs in preparation for stamping or engraving, ensuring smooth operation of equipment. Maintains accurate timekeeping on work orders of all shop and maintenance-related work, ensuring proper documentation for production and maintenance tasks. Provides supplemental services such as stamping, drilling, using manual cutters, or performing other tasks to support post-water jet cutting of manufactured parts. Supports secondary manufacturing operations including grinding, painting, sanding, water jet, engraving, stamping, or packaging of manufactured products. Remains knowledgeable and current with all shop machine processes, regulations, and guidelines, including forklift operations and safety protocols. Ensures compliance with all safety guidelines regarding facilities and environmental regulations, reporting any issues to supervisors promptly. Observes displays and processes, listens to machine sounds, and measures dimensions of finished parts using measuring instruments to detect malfunctions and ensure quality standards are met. Utilizes forklift in loading and unloading products for water jet cutting, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures are followed. Prioritizes time-sensitive work orders and communicates any delays or issues that may impact production to supervisors. Communicates the status of material availability, machine malfunctions, or equipment needs to supervisors in advance to facilitate efficient workflow. Examines finished parts for quality and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as necessary to ensure product quality. Prepares items for cutting, ensuring proper alignment and placement to optimize the cutting process. Scoops or pours abrasive particles into the hopper of the machine to facilitate the cutting process efficiently. Removes by-product drops and ensures waste materials are properly disposed of in designated containers for recycling or reuse, contributing to environmental sustainability efforts. Operates shop equipment such as automated cutters, grinders, and drilling machines with precision and accuracy. Replaces worn or damaged machine parts such as nozzles, tips, and washers to maintain optimal machine performance and minimize downtime. Measures dimensions of finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications. Conducts visual inspections of finished parts, identifying any defects or inconsistencies and taking corrective actions as needed to maintain quality standards. Pulls products from sales orders as requested, ensuring accurate picking and packaging of items for shipment to customers. Actively participates in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to shop machine processes, safety protocols, and environmental compliance. Identifies opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements, collaborating with supervisors and team members to implement best practices. Maintains detailed records of production activities, equipment maintenance, and inventory transactions, ensuring accurate and up-to-date documentation for traceability and audit purposes. Provide guidance and training to junior technicians or new team members. Maintain records for and process rental returns communicating results to accounting. Execute various tasks, as assigned by your manager, supervisor, or company officer, whether within your standard duties or as requested beyond regular responsibilities.
