Woodworker Job Description Join a collaborative fabrication team that produces high-quality custom cabinetry and millwork for commercial and institutional projects. In this role, you read and interpret blueprints, solve fabrication challenges, and work with a variety of materials to build specialized items such as radius walls, teller lines, and nurse stations using standard woodworking tools and equipment. Responsibilities Read and interpret blueprints accurately to fabricate cabinetry and millwork components to specification. Fabricate custom items including radius walls, teller lines, nurse stations, and other specialized pieces for commercial and institutional projects. Work with a range of materials such as particle board, solid surface, laminate, and veneer to produce finished products. Collaborate closely with team members, communicating effectively to coordinate tasks and support smooth workflow. Demonstrate flexibility by working overtime as needed to meet project deadlines. Essential Skills Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints for cabinetry and millwork fabrication. Strong hands-on woodworking skills, including measuring, cutting, sanding, assembling, and finishing. Comfort and experience using standard woodworking tools such as table saws, stationary and slider saws, routers, and a variety of hand tools. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a cooperative team player. Strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive attitude toward learning and continuous improvement. Willingness to work overtime when required to support project schedules. Additional Skills & Qualifications Vocational degree in woodworking or a related field is helpful and considered an asset. Experience with assembly work using hand and power tools in a production or shop environment. Ability to accurately use tape measures and other measuring tools for precise fabrication. Familiarity with wood finishing processes and techniques. Commitment to following safety protocols and using personal protective equipment appropriately. Why Work Here? Work Environment This is a shop-based role with a consistent schedule: Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The work takes place in a woodworking facility with exposure to wood dust; the area is well ventilated, and respirator fittings are provided where required. Ear protection is available and must be used in designated high-noise areas, and safety glasses are required at all times. You will work with a variety of woodworking machinery, hand tools, and power tools in a production environment that emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of La Crosse, WI. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
