From $35.00 per hour Job description: Come join the Smart Sand team! We are a fully integrated sand supply and services company, offering complete sand, logistics, storage, and management solutions to our customers with our in-basin trans-loading terminals and our smartsystem storage capabilities. We own and operate premium frac sand mines and related processing facilities in Wisconsin and Illinois, which have access to three Class I rail lines, allowing us to deliver products substantially anywhere in the United States and Canada. We are seeking candidates to join our Fabrication Technician I. The Fabrication Technician I is responsible for the fabrication, welding, repair or retrofitting of equipment for the facilities. The Fabrication Technician is responsible for layout/shop math related to complex metal fabrication, material reduction, fitting, tacking, welding, assembly of components, and shop cleanliness. This position will work under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager; however, will require taking direction from other Smart Sand managers. This position is based primarily at our Oakdale, WI facility. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Utilizing MIG, TIG, and stick welding to manufacture items and components per customer specification and prints. Bending and shearing equipment with a brake. Measure and mark out dimensions. Reading blueprints and adhering to drawings and specifications to produce the best product for customer. Operate a wide range of tools, machinery, and welding equipment. Fabrication equipment and forklift operation when trained and authorized to perform such duties. Properly utilize required safety protective equipment. Cleaning work area, tools, and equipment daily. Perform any other duties as assigned. Education and Experience High school diploma or GED preferred. Minimum of 3 years' experience in welding and fabrication and ability to read blueprints Experience running shear, brake press, mill, lathe, CNC plasma table preferred. Qualifications Must be able to stand and crouch for long periods of time. Must have high safety standards for self and others. Must be able to work effectively and produce quality work with minimum supervision. Must be willing to work any assigned shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work at various heights on ladders. Must be a self-starter and work with minimal supervision.
