This role demands a strategic thinker with experience in project tracking / management, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration within manufacturing environments. The successful candidate will drive project execution, ensure alignment with organizational goals, and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives using project management methodologies. Responsibilities Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of industrial manufacturing projects, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget parameters. Develop comprehensive project plans utilizing tools such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or Smartsheet, incorporating risk management and resource allocation strategies. Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, and success criteria. Apply project management methodologies (PMBOK, Agile, Waterfall, and SAFe or other similar) to optimize project workflows and adapt to evolving project needs. Conduct root cause analysis and implement process improvements employing Lean Six Sigma principles such as Kaizen and 5S to enhance operational efficiency. Manage project stakeholder communication effectively across diverse teams and external vendors using platforms like SharePoint, Confluence, or Salesforce. Oversee vendor management activities including contract negotiations, performance monitoring, and compliance assurance. Utilize data analysis skills in Excel or SAS for project data collection, progress tracking, and reporting on earned value management metrics. Lead team management efforts by supervising technical staff and fostering a collaborative environment aligned with organizational objectives. Facilitate meetings regularly to review progress, resolve conflicts promptly, and ensure continuous alignment with project goals. Experience Proven experience in technical project & program management within an industrial manufacturing setting. May consider other manufacturing experience for a strong candidate (Manufacturing Engineering, Program Management or other similar) Extensive background in project lifecycle management including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closure. Demonstrated expertise in change management strategies that support organizational transformation initiatives. Familiarity with project management tools such as Jira, Trello, VersionOne, or Microsoft Project for scheduling and tracking progress. Experience implementing process mapping and business process modeling techniques to streamline operations. Skilled in risk management practices including scope management, cost control, and schedule adjustments using earned value analysis. Excellent organizational skills coupled with effective communication skills for engaging cross-functional teams. Requirements Bachelors Degree in Engineering required, Mechanical / Civil / Structural Engineering preferred) 3-7 years experience in industrial manufacturing required (Metal fabrication or similar preferred) Minimal travel required Ability to work on site at the Birmingham AL site.
