Manufacturing Manager On Site Clarkdale Arizona About Bent River Machine Bent River Machine is a privately owned Arizona manufacturer established in 1978. We build factory tooling, custom automation, precision components, and low-volume, high-complexity assemblies for defense, aerospace, semiconductor, and space customers. The Opportunity We are hiring a hands-on Manufacturing Manager to lead machining, fabrication, programming, and quality. This leader turns production commitments into clear priorities, raises risks early, and builds a team that follows safety and quality processes. People leadership is central to this job. The right manager sets expectations, coaches employees, recognizes strong work, and addresses performance issues directly and respectfully. The role works closely with other departments and company leadership to protect customer commitments. What You Will Own Daily and weekly execution of production plans for machining, fabrication, programming, and quality. Labor, priorities, capacity, accurate job status, early identification of constraints, and practical recovery plans when delivery is at risk. Coaching, development, performance management, and accountability for department leads and production employees. Compliance with drawings, specifications, inspection requirements, nonconformance controls, and required quality records. Coordination with Assembly, Planning, Purchasing, Engineering, and Logistics to support companywide on-time delivery. Production and quality performance, including yield, rework, scrap, training, equipment readiness, and safety metrics. Improvement of workflow, standard work, team capability, and manufacturing systems, along with manufacturability and capacity input for quoting and planning. What Success Looks Like Employees understand priorities, required records, due dates, and the definition of done. Delivery and quality risks are raised early, corrective actions are completed, and required paperwork is finished before work advances or ships. Bent River meets its annual on-time delivery and quality targets while strong performance is recognized and missed expectations are addressed. What You Bring Five or more years of progressively responsible manufacturing experience, including at least three years directly leading employees and managing performance. A measurable record of improving delivery, quality, team accountability, or manufacturing performance. Experience in high-mix, low-volume, precision machining, fabrication, custom equipment, aerospace, defense, or similarly complex manufacturing. Working knowledge of production scheduling, capacity planning, machining and fabrication processes, engineering drawings, and shop-floor workflow. Experience with ISO 9001 or another formal quality management system, including nonconformance and corrective-action processes. Comfort using ERP or MRP systems and spreadsheets to manage work and make decisions. A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of relevant education, technical training, and experience. Experience That Would Be Helpful Hands-on familiarity with CNC machining, welding, fabrication, inspection, assembly, controls, or custom automation. Experience in AS9100, defense, aerospace, semiconductor, ITAR-controlled, or CMMC-aligned manufacturing. Lean, Six Sigma, project management, or quality training and experience developing front-line leads or supervisors. We expect leaders to pair clear accountability with trust and respect. Compensation and Benefits $65,000.00 to $75,000.00 Bent River pays 90 percent of the employee medical insurance premium. Bent River Machine has 7 paid holidays, including a floating holiday for your birthday that can be used on any day of your choice. The standard paid time off accrual, outlined in our employee guidelines for new hires, is 1 week of vacation time and 1 week of sick time. Relocation is available on a case-by-case basis.
