Technical degree preferred: Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, etc Experience with metal forming, machining, chemical processing and heat-treating would be a plus Must have at least 5+ years of experience as an operations manager or similar role in Aerospace, Industrial Manufacturing, Automotive or similar industry Experience with metal forming, hardening, tempering, annealing, and other heat-treating processes would be a plus. Analytical skills and experience with techniques to improve quality, reduce rework and increase productivity. Supervisory experience leading teams of 40+ people; Performance management skills. Effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of organization, especially with direct employees. Intermediate use of ERP (JDE), MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook; other PowerBI and productivity tools. Quality focused & production driven.
Salary Range:
The base pay range for this position in California is $140,000 - $160,000+/year. Pay is based on market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
The Job:
As a Manufacturing Operations Manager, you'll be part of our Aerospace team working as an on-site employee. In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for daily production of metal formed and machine components along with driving continuity of supply in other value streams feeding the immediate area of control. A comprehensive value stream approach to achieving monthly revenue is also tied to completion of downstream operations as well. You'll get to: Ensures to run a safe, injury/accident-free workplace. Responsible for daily management and leadership of all resources assigned. Typical responsibilities include but are not limited to: TOC, schedule adherence, productivity, personnel development, time and attendance, training and establishing/monitoring departmental goals. Manage MOS and update board daily to ensure accurate tracking of KPIs plus actions related to "red" indicators Enhance the operational procedures, processes and systems to improve operational efficiencies. Work independently and within a team while coordinating with other Departmental Leaders and/or Managers to achieve Daily/Weekly/Monthly goals and objectives. Interprets company policies to workers, leads by example and enforces all Federal, State and local regulations. Creates a departmental cross training matrix and mentors assigned personnel. Deploys team members to both strategically and tactically engage in cross functional problem solving to improve production efficiency and product quality. Execute the production schedule, manage people, assets, tooling and materials in running the production in most productive fashion; engage actively in potential schedule or requirement changes; ensure and enhance production schedule adherence to dispatch (ATD). Manage Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) and other reporting daily to drive performance in all assigned areas; and ensure all production data accuracies. Ensure employees are trained on post manufacturing processing procedures and practices. Review variable costs, productivity, earned standard hours and throughput daily and implement effective recovery or corrective actions when targets are not achieved. Actively participate Continuous Improvement (CI) projects to increase efficiency, productivity and machine utilization while reducing overall cost. Provide manufacturing expertise when problems arise. Formulates and maintains the highest standards of housekeeping (6S) in all areas assigned. Support and improve upon quality initiatives designed to meet plant goals. Manage preventative maintenance performed by production employees. Other duties as assigned to meet facility goals
