Location:
onsite in Hayward, CA Helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Program Manager, Lean Manufacturing to support continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations. In this role, you'll partner with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing processes, analyze operational performance, and help develop and sustain the Production System. You'll work closely with operations leaders to drive standardization, strengthen problem-solving capabilities, and support a culture of continuous improvement. The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem solver with a strong background in lean manufacturing, process improvement, and cross-functional program management. As a Program Manager, Lean Manufacturing, you'll: Partner with cross-functional teams, including General Assembly, Manufacturing Execution, Quality, and Logistics, to drive continuous process improvement. Identify process inefficiencies, conduct gap analyses, and develop current-state and future-state process maps. Observe manufacturing operations to identify waste, reduce variability, and improve process standardization. Lead workshops and training sessions to implement new processes, tools, and lean manufacturing best practices. Support the implementation, sustainment, and continuous improvement of the Production System (ZPS) through coaching, auditing, and hands-on engagement. Coach operations teams on lean principles, including standard work, 5S, waste elimination, and structured problem-solving methodologies. Develop operational standards, documentation, and performance metrics that support manufacturing excellence. Create dashboards and reports that provide visibility into operational performance and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
4 to 6 years of experience in manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, or a related industry. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field. Experience working within or developing production systems in an OEM manufacturing environment strongly preferred. Proven experience leading cross-functional initiatives and driving operational improvements. Certifications in Project Management, Lean, or Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher preferred).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Familiarity with data and analytics tools such as SQL, Smartsheet, Databricks, or Looker.
