About the Role We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Manufacturing Operations Manager to strengthen our manufacturing operations, establish reliable production and material planning processes, and improve coordination across Production, Purchasing, Inventory, and Engineering. The successful candidate will take ownership of operational planning and process improvement, including implementing an effective sales-order-to-production workflow in QuickBooks Enterprise. This position requires a manufacturing professional who combines operational leadership with direct experience in production planning, purchasing, inventory reconciliation, and ERP process implementation. Key Responsibilities Manufacturing Operations & Planning Coordinate manufacturing operations to support customer delivery requirements and production targets. Establish a structured process connecting customer sales orders, production planning, manufacturing work orders, and material availability. Work with the Production Manager to establish production priorities and schedules. Monitor manufacturing readiness, material shortages, and operational constraints. Improve coordination between Production, Purchasing, Engineering, Inventory, and Finance. Production Planning & Purchasing Take ownership of the production planning and purchasing process. Review outstanding sales orders, existing Pending Builds, and manufacturing requirements. Manage material requirements planning for complex, multi-level assemblies. Establish consolidated purchasing requirements based on production demand. Oversee purchase order management, supplier coordination, and material delivery schedules. Ensure that purchasing decisions are based on verified material requirements and inventory availability. Inventory Control & ERP Process Implementation Lead the reconciliation of inaccurate inventory, purchasing, and production records. Establish reliable inventory control and material planning procedures. Coordinate physical inventory verification and investigate discrepancies. Implement an effective manufacturing planning and purchasing workflow in QuickBooks Enterprise. Establish procedures for work order management, inventory transactions, purchasing, and production reporting. Ensure that operational planning remains reliable even when ERP data requires correction or verification. Operational Leadership & Process Improvement Establish clear responsibilities and accountability across manufacturing support functions. Develop and implement standard operating procedures. Coordinate operational priorities and resolve issues affecting manufacturing and customer deliveries. Establish performance reporting for production readiness, inventory accuracy, purchasing, and material availability. Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, operational controls, and on-time delivery. Required Qualifications Significant hands-on experience in manufacturing operations, including both production planning and purchasing. Experience managing manufacturing processes involving multi-level BOMs, assembly production, and material requirements planning. Demonstrated experience reconciling inaccurate inventory and purchasing records. Experience implementing or improving ERP-based manufacturing planning and operational processes. Ability to independently establish reliable production and purchasing requirements when ERP data is incomplete or inaccurate. Experience coordinating manufacturing, purchasing, inventory, and engineering activities. Strong operational leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Willingness to remain directly involved in planning, purchasing, and operational execution. Preferred Qualifications Experience with QuickBooks Enterprise manufacturing and inventory functions. Background in electronics, instrumentation, industrial equipment, or electromechanical manufacturing. Experience improving manufacturing operations in a growing company. Experience managing international suppliers and complex manufacturing supply chains.
APICS/ASCM
CPIM or CSCP certification. What We Are Looking For We are looking for a hands-on manufacturing operations leader who can take ownership of operational processes and independently implement improvements. The ideal candidate has personally managed production planning and purchasing, understands complex assembly manufacturing, and has experience establishing reliable operational processes when existing ERP and inventory records require reconciliation. We are not looking for someone whose experience is limited to supervising established operations. This position requires direct involvement in identifying problems, correcting operational data, implementing processes, and ensuring consistent execution.

I have managed purchasing and suppliers but received material requirements from a separate planning department. C. I have prepared POs and followed up with suppliers based on purchasing instructions from others. D. I have supervised purchasing activities but have limited hands-on purchasing experience. E. I have no direct manufacturing purchasing experience. 3. Describe your experience managing production and purchasing when ERP inventory and purchasing records are inaccurate or incomplete. A. I have independently established production and purchasing requirements by reconciling sales orders, work orders, BOMs, physical inventory, and supplier commitments before relying on ERP reports. B. I have independently investigated inventory and purchasing discrepancies and corrected the records before using ERP reports for planning. C. I have identified discrepancies and worked with inventory or purchasing teams to resolve them. D. I have primarily relied on ERP-generated inventory and material shortage reports to plan production and purchasing. E. I have not worked in an environment with significant inventory or purchasing record discrepancies.
