A Manufacturing Project Manager maintains relations between the manufacturing company and the clients to which it sells and distributes. They manage a variety of accounts and projects; they also assess new build plans, assess various procedures in the production process, and maintain an open line of communication with vendors and clients. The project manager works with the company's customers directly to assess and help meet their needs. In addition, the project manager has responsibilities in the direct manufacturing facility. They ensure that safety guidelines are met and any potential risks are eliminated.

Job Description

Role & Responsibilities:
  • Effectively coordinates Lean Six Sigma continuous improvement projects within the Plant.
  • Works with Plant leadership to select charter projects and then executes to achieve an effective outcome.
  • Uses standardized Lean Six Sigma methodologies to systematically eliminate waste and reduce process variation.
  • Positions continuous improvement initiatives throughout the plant by fostering strong collaboration. Includes working effectively with cross functional teams.
  • Understands statistical analysis tools/methodology, project management, Lean Six Sigma, Quality, and basic financial principles and applies them to analyze the planned activities.
Qualifications & Requirements:
    High School Degree or Equivalent Training:
    • Minimum of two years experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or distribution preferred
    • Experience in a supervisory role is a plus, but not required.
    • Ability to successfully complete Green Belt certification process.
    • Proven organization skills, including time and project management capability.
    • Must be able to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflicts to reach consensus around common goals.
    Proficient computer skills, including MS Office applications.
    Pay rate:
    $32.65 Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate. USG employees enjoy a number of benefit options for themselves and their families.
