Finzer Roller is part of our combined precision roll manufacturing organization alongside American Roller Company and Precision Roll Solutions. About the Position We are seeking a hands-on Plant Manager to lead the Finzer Roller manufacturing operation in Itasca. This leader will be accountable for the plant's performance across safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, and continuous improvement. The right candidate will be highly visible on the production floor, comfortable leading in a low-volume, high-mix environment, and able to turn business priorities into disciplined daily execution. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong teams, improving operational performance, and creating an organized, accountable, and continuously improving workplace. What You Will Do Lead all daily plant operations with responsibility for safety, environmental compliance, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, and workforce performance. Build and reinforce a strong safety culture through visible leadership, training, incident prevention, corrective actions, housekeeping, and 5S. Establish clear production priorities and use daily performance measures to identify gaps, assign countermeasures, and protect customer commitments. Manage labor, schedules, materials, capacity, outside services, tooling, and equipment readiness to support on-time delivery. Own plant financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, labor productivity, overtime, scrap and rework, inventory, spending, and profitability. Champion Lean manufacturing, standard work, visual management, root cause problem solving, Kaizen, value stream improvement, and waste reduction. Improve equipment reliability through effective preventive maintenance, downtime response, capital planning, and project execution. Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and employees by setting clear expectations, providing feedback, recognizing strong performance, and consistently holding people accountable. Build bench strength through training, cross-training, succession planning, and employee development. Partner with Sales, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and regional leadership to resolve issues, coordinate priorities, and support customers. Support equipment installations, process transfers, integrations, consolidations, and other operational improvement initiatives as needed. What You Bring Seven or more years of progressive manufacturing or operations experience, including at least three years leading supervisors or a significant production team. Demonstrated success improving safety, quality, delivery, cost, productivity, profitability, and team performance. Practical Lean manufacturing and structured problem-solving experience with measurable, sustained results. Experience with plant financials, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, variance management, and resource allocation. Strong leadership presence with the ability to build trust, communicate clearly, make sound decisions, and lead change at every level of the organization. Working knowledge of manufacturing ERP systems, operational reporting, and Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work on site, spend significant time on the production floor, and respond to operational needs outside normal business hours when necessary. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in operations management, engineering, manufacturing, business, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered. Plant Manager or comparable site-leadership experience in a made-to-order, engineered-product, or low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment. Experience with industrial rollers, rubber, urethane, polymers, coatings, steel fabrication, machining, or related industrial processes. Lean, Six Sigma, quality, safety, or continuous improvement training or certification. Experience integrating acquired operations, transferring work, installing equipment, or leading a significant operational transformation.
Pay:
$115,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
