Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to oversee the daily production and operational activities of a food manufacturing facility. This role will lead Production, Maintenance, Herring Processing, and Shipping , while ensuring safe, efficient, compliant, and high-quality operations. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily plant production and operational activities. Manage production schedules, staffing, equipment, materials, and workflows. Monitor labor costs, production yields, pounds per labor hour, overhead, and productivity . Lead and develop Production Managers, Supervisors, Maintenance personnel, and hourly employees. Coordinate labor scheduling for permanent and temporary employees. Improve production methods, equipment performance, workflows, and overall efficiency. Partner with Quality Assurance to maintain food quality and safety standards. Ensure compliance with BRCGS, FDA, OSHA, and local health and safety regulations . Support food safety programs and maintain the integrity of the Food Safety Plan. Oversee preventive maintenance and respond to equipment failures and production interruptions. Coordinate inventory counts and communicate material shortages or discrepancies. Prepare and manage the annual plant operating budget. Review monthly financial results and develop corrective actions for budget variances. Oversee waste-treatment operations and regulatory compliance. Work closely with senior leadership and department managers to achieve operational goals. Maintain confidentiality of company, employee, and operational information. Required Qualifications 5+ years of Plant Management experience in food manufacturing . Experience managing a food processing/manufacturing facility . Strong knowledge of food manufacturing operations and production processes. Experience managing production, maintenance, and hourly employees . Strong team leadership, coaching, motivation, and accountability skills. Experience with production scheduling, labor management, cost control, yields, and productivity metrics . Experience preparing and managing plant budgets and analyzing financial performance. Knowledge of food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance . Familiarity with

BRCGS, FDA, OSHA

, and applicable health/safety standards. Experience in fish, seafood, meat, or similar regulated food processing is strongly preferred. Strong problem-solving, planning, organizational, and decision-making skills. Proficiency with spreadsheets, word-processing software, and operational reporting tools . Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Food Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field. Spanish language skills. Experience with fish/seafood processing or other highly regulated food manufacturing environments.
