A Production Plant Manager directs work and resources needed for a manufacturing production process. Plans and manages production work that meets cost, quality and quantity specifications for a company or project.
Bruder Tank designs and builds make-to-order truck mount tanks — with head production, parts fabrication, tank assembly, and final test all handled in-house.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Work alongside our Plant Manager and production supervisors to keep Bruder Tank's make-to-order tank production running smoothly — across tank assembly, head production, parts fabrication, and final test. This is a hands-on, floor-first role focused on clearing obstacles, supporting the team, and helping deliver on schedule, to spec, and safely. Over time — at a pace set with the Plant Manager — you'll deepen your product knowledge and grow into broader leadership, giving the plant strong, seamless coverage now and into the future.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
▪ Coordinate daily production across all work centers, turning the NetSuite build plan into a clear, workable daily picture for supervisors and leads. ▪ Track throughput, run rates, and on-time completion, and help the team work through constraints as they arise. ▪ Support the daily production — safety, quality, on-time completion, and throughput. ▪ Partner with and back up production supervisors and working leads: coaching, mentoring, and creating a path for people to grow. ▪ Assist with onboarding, and cross-training alongside HR and the Plant Manager. ▪ Partner with QC on DOT/VAC and customer specs, and confirm final-test (vacuum / pressure / leak) standards are met before units ship. ▪ Reinforce a safety-first, OSHA-compliant culture and proactive incident prevention. ▪ Work with Continuous Improvement to remove bottlenecks and use data to target gains in throughput and cost. ▪ Coordinate with Engineering, Materials, Inventory, and Purchasing so components and the build schedule stay aligned.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Required ▪ Several years of manufacturing supervision or team leadership — ideally in metal fabrication, welded products, or make-to order production. ▪ A track record of earning trust with front-line supervisors and hourly teams. ▪ Working knowledge of production scheduling, capacity planning, and shop-floor metrics. ▪ Comfort with
ERP / MRP
systems and production reporting (NetSuite a plus). ▪ Solid grounding in manufacturing quality and OSHA safety; strong communication and problem-solving skills. ▪ High school diploma or GED. Preferred ▪ Aluminum welding / fabrication, or pressure / vacuum vessel or tank / trailer manufacturing experience. ▪ Familiarity with DOT requirements for transport tanks. ▪ Associate's or Bachelor's in a technical, engineering, or operations field, or Lean / CI exposure (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S).
