Job Description
Manufacturing Operations Manager Pay Range:
$65,000 - $90,000 per year The Opportunity We are looking for an experienced manufacturing leader to take an active role in the day-to-day performance of a fast-paced production operation. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys being on the production floor, working directly with supervisors and employees, solving problems, and finding practical ways to improve how work moves through the facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating people, priorities, and production activities to meet customer requirements while maintaining expectations for safety, quality, productivity, and on-time completion. What You'll Do Direct daily manufacturing activities and establish production priorities based on workload and customer requirements. Work closely with production personnel to keep jobs moving efficiently through each stage of manufacturing. Identify workflow constraints, labor issues, and other obstacles that could affect production schedules. Monitor output, quality, efficiency, and delivery performance and take corrective action when needed. Develop and improve production methods that increase throughput and reduce unnecessary labor, scrap, rework, and downtime. Provide hands-on leadership and support to supervisors and production employees. Coordinate staffing and resources based on changing production requirements. Establish clear expectations and accountability throughout the production team. Support employee training, cross-training, and development. Partner with engineering, purchasing, quality and other departments to resolve production-related issues. Help maintain an organized, safe, and efficient manufacturing environment. Use production data and shop-floor observations to identify opportunities for improvement. Communicate production status, challenges, and improvement opportunities to company leadership. •We are looking for a practical manufacturing leader who can balance production demands with people management and process improvement.
Preferred qualifications include:
Previous leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Experience managing employees, production schedules, and changing daily priorities. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Ability to recognize inefficient processes and implement practical improvements. Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, or similar manufacturing principles. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously. Comfortable working directly on the manufacturing floor rather than managing exclusively from an office. Ability to communicate effectively with production employees, supervisors, and company leadership. Mechanical aptitude and general understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes. Experience with assembly-oriented manufacturing is beneficial. Experience in electrical assembly, wire harness, automotive, RV, transportation, or other high-mix manufacturing environments is a plus but is not required The Right Fit This role requires someone who can lead people while also understanding what is actually happening on the production floor.
