Job Summary Directs and coordinates the activities of the Management Team in Safety, Production, Maintenance, CI, Administration (Finance and HR) and to obtain optimum efficiency for the facility. The position provides leadership to the facility, manufacturing operation and continuous improvement effort respectively. The Plant Manager ensures that employees are working safely, efficiently and in a positive environment. Essential Functions Maximize the output of the facility in a safe and cost-effective manner. Communicate to the facility Management Team strategy, policies and operational goals. Maximize operating efficiency and evaluate for inefficiency in the manufacturing process such as: Cost, Downtime, Waste, Production Planning, Preventive Maintenance, etc. Use data to make improvements and monitor results. Provide Technical and Administrative expertise to the facility. Provide direct oversight Management of Capital projects in the facility. Provide support, guidance, and leadership to the Management staff at the facility. Direct and facilitate activities of Management Team. Actively participate with Department Managers to focus on standardization of plants, process optimization and problem resolution. Directing the Management Team where activities focus on local plant operation, optimization, employee issues, and monitoring performance to plan. Represent the B.U. along with department Managers when communicating with the technology group. Actively communicates with Commercial and Supply Chain groups as required to service customer needs. Participate in SQF Housekeeping and Food Safety Programs. Provide plant housekeeping support. Job Qualifications Required Experience in the use of statistical tools/methodologies, computers, quality methods and basic financial principles. Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization. Ability to focus on understanding and exceeding expectations of the customer. Ability to influence, negotiate and resolve conflict to reach consensus and common goals. Experience in recruiting, leading, and developing a team. Direct experience in continuous improvement via the application of statistical methods. Knowledge of ERP systems and S&OP processes.
Computer literate:
MS Office, Power Point (Access, Publisher, advanced Excel). Self-starter; resourceful, highly organized, and successfully manage change. Preferred Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Minimum of 6 - 10 years of industrial experience. 2+ years in a position of leadership. Environment Physical effort requirements may include lifting up to 50 lbs., extended standing, and walking extended distances. Work Environment may include heat, cold, dust and noise.
