Striem is a growing, privately owned manufacturing company with a single-shift Monday-Friday operation and a small, experienced team. The Plant Manager will have meaningful responsibility and a significant impact on our business, while also enjoying a sustainable work schedule and a great company culture. We're looking for a strong manufacturing leader who wants to make a difference, develop people and improve an operation - not someone looking for the biggest plant or biggest title. Job Description At Striem, the Plant Manager is accountable for the people, processes, and performance of the plant floor. This role leads the Production Team, the Shipping Team, quality control work, maintenance work, and all building and grounds needs. This person owns the day-to-day execution and must also build systems, processes, and people that are scalable for the future. Responsibilities
• Lead the
Manufacturing Team:
Manage and lead all Production, Shipping, Maintenance, and plant support staff—from setting priorities and balancing workload to developing people, conducting performance reviews, and building team morale.
•
Own Manufacturing Performance:
Be accountable for the safety, quality, productivity, reliability, and overall performance of the manufacturing operation.
•
Drive Lean & Continuous Improvement:
Champion Lean Manufacturing principles and Striem's continuous improvement program, creating a culture where problems are identified, solved, and prevented.
•
Establish & Enforce Standards:
Create standard work and operating standards where none exist, continuously improve existing standards, and establish clear accountability for following them.
•
Deliver Customer Responsiveness:
Build and operate a manufacturing organization that is adaptable, responsive, and capable of meeting changing customer requirements and an evolving business environment.
• Live the
Striem Philosophy:
Consistently demonstrate the Striem Philosophy through personal actions and leadership, and hold others accountable for doing the same.
•
Own Maintenance & Facility Reliability:
Define and manage the preventive and proactive maintenance strategy for all equipment, building systems, grounds, and other physical assets supporting the operation.
•
Manage Plant Systems & Contractors:
Serve as the primary point of contact for most contractors and become the internal subject matter expert for plant systems, building, and grounds.
• Partner Across the
Business:
Collaborate closely with the COO to define and execute the vision for Operations, and build strong working relationships with Engineering and Sales that enable effective communication, clear handoffs, and ongoing collaboration.
• Lead from the
Plant Floor:
Be a visible, engaged leader who spends significant time on the plant floor, understands the work firsthand, and is willing to get involved and help the team solve problems when needed. Qualifications
•
Education & Experience:
Four-year technical degree strongly preferred, with 5+ years of manufacturing experience and 3+ years of management experience preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience will be considered.
•
Lean & Continuous Improvement:
Demonstrated experience applying Lean Manufacturing principles and leading continuous improvement initiatives that produce measurable results.
•
Manufacturing Leadership:
Demonstrated ability to lead people, establish priorities, manage competing demands, and hold teams accountable for results.
•
Technology & Systems:
Technology savvy and fluent with Microsoft Office. Digitally literate and comfortable understanding how manufacturing systems, software, equipment, and technology communicate and connect.
•
Technical Aptitude:
Strong understanding of industrial mechanical systems and practical experience using hand tools, power tools, and other equipment commonly found in a manufacturing environment.
•
Problem Solving:
Strong bias for action, with the ability to identify problems, make sound decisions, and drive issues to resolution.
•

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales, and other functions.
•
