Manufacturing Fabrication Manager/Sheet Metal Manager

Overview Powercon Corp is a leading switchgear manufacturing company dedicated to providing high-quality electrical solutions. We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sheet Metal Manager 1st Shift to join our team.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced Fabrication Manager to lead our sheet metal manufacturing operations. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for production, scheduling, quality, safety, employee development, equipment, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Manage daily sheet metal fabrication operations, including laser cutting, CNC punching, press brake forming, bending, grinding, welding, painting, and assembly. Schedule and assign work to meet production goals and customer delivery requirements. Monitor work orders, labor hours, material usage, scrap, productivity, and production times. Lead, train, coach, and develop fabrication team members. Ensure quality standards, drawings, specifications, and tolerances are met. Promote safe work practices and compliance with OSHA and company policies. Coordinate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Maintenance, and Purchasing to resolve production issues. Support equipment maintenance, new equipment implementation, and process improvements. Promote Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with hands-on sheet metal fabrication experience. At least 4 years of lead, supervisory, or management experience in manufacturing or fabrication. Strong knowledge of CNC laser cutting, CNC punching, press brakes, forming, bending, and assembly. Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and specifications. Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Experience managing production schedules and shop-floor priorities. Working knowledge of OSHA and manufacturing safety practices. Preferred Qualifications Experience with electrical enclosures, switchgear, cabinets, or similar products . Experience with automated sheet metal equipment or robotic welding. CAD experience, including SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor . ERP/MRP and production scheduling experience. Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or 5S experience. Experience establishing manufacturing times or labor standards. Work Environment This is a hands-on manufacturing floor position requiring regular standing, walking, and interaction with equipment and production personnel. Exposure to machinery and manufacturing noise is expected. We offer competitive compensation, benefits, and paid time off. This job description is not intended to be all-inclusive. Pay:
$75,000.00 - $109,000.00 per year
