A well-established cannabis company in Southern Maine is seeking an experienced Cannabis Manufacturing Operations Manager to oversee key areas of its manufacturing and finished-goods operations. This leadership position is responsible for ensuring production activities are completed safely, efficiently, consistently, and in accordance with applicable cannabis regulations, company procedures, quality standards, and production goals. The ideal candidate is a hands-on operational leader who is comfortable managing multiple production workflows, developing teams, improving processes, and maintaining a high level of accountability in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment. Responsibilities Provide day-to-day leadership and oversight across multiple cannabis manufacturing, production, and finished-goods functions. Manage production workflows involving a variety of cannabis product categories and SKUs. Develop and coordinate production schedules based on inventory levels, sales forecasts, business priorities, and available labor. Ensure production goals, quality expectations, and deadlines are consistently met. Monitor product quality, consistency, accuracy, waste, and overall production performance. Oversee finished-goods preparation, labeling, and packaging activities to ensure products meet quality, presentation, and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate production records, batch documentation, inventory movements, and product traceability. Ensure cannabis products are properly tracked within METRC and applicable internal inventory systems. Manage production supply and material needs, including forecasting, replenishment planning, vendor coordination, and inventory management. Coordinate equipment maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repairs as needed. Identify and implement opportunities to improve workflow, labor utilization, production capacity, product consistency, and overall operational efficiency. Develop, maintain, and implement SOPs and standardized production processes. Monitor departmental KPIs, including production output, labor efficiency, quality, waste, and schedule attainment. Maintain clean, organized, safe, and audit-ready production environments. Partner cross-functionally with Inventory, Procurement, Logistics, Compliance, and company leadership to support broader operational objectives. Leadership & Development Skills Lead, coach, train, and develop supervisors and production team members. Build effective staffing plans and allocate labor based on production priorities. Establish clear expectations and promote accountability, teamwork, safety, and continuous improvement. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and coaching. Participate in hiring, onboarding, training, employee development, and performance management. Support the continued development of frontline leadership and departmental processes. What We're Looking For Previous leadership or supervisory experience in cannabis, manufacturing, food production, consumer packaged goods, or another regulated production environment. Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage multiple production workflows simultaneously. Strong organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to product quality. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to analyze production needs, prioritize work, and adjust resources in a fast-paced environment. Working knowledge of inventory management, production planning, and process improvement. Intermediate mathematical skills for production planning, inventory management, and operational reporting. Cannabis manufacturing and/or METRC experience strongly preferred. Ability to handle sensitive business and employee information with professionalism and confidentiality. High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or higher preferred. Must be at least 21 years of age. Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Maine Office of Cannabis Policy Individual Identification Card (IIC). Schedule This is a full-time, primarily Monday-Friday leadership position. Typical hours fall within standard daytime production operations.
