Position Overview The Manufacturing Operations Manager is responsible for coordinating production operations throughout our Michigan manufacturing facility, ensuring projects move accurately, efficiently, and on schedule while maintaining the exceptional standards that define Bakes & Kropp. This position focuses on communication, workflow coordination, scheduling, production readiness, and operational efficiency across departments. The Manufacturing Operations Manager works closely with Engineering, Purchasing, Designers, Shop Leadership, and other departments to support production flow and maintain accountability throughout the organization. The Manufacturing Operations Manager works collaboratively with the Shop Manager and Materials Manager , with each position having a distinct but closely connected role: The Shop Manager focuses on technical execution, craftsmanship, machinery, shop personnel, and quality. The Materials Manager ensures the correct materials and components are in the right place, in the right quantities, at the right time. The Manufacturing Operations Manager focuses on communication, scheduling, production coordination, workflow, and operational efficiency. Together, these roles support the overall success, efficiency, and quality of our manufacturing operation. The Manufacturing Operations Manager reports directly to the Director of Operations and serves as both a Core Value Leader and 5S Champion within the organization. One of the keys to our success is our ability to communicate well, solve problems quickly, and continuously improve. The Manufacturing Operations Manager plays an important role in making that happen by planning proactively, maintaining visibility across production, supporting accountability, identifying potential issues before they become problems, and ensuring teams stay aligned throughout the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate for this position will: Work effectively across departments to support communication, coordination, and production flow. Be highly organized and capable of managing multiple projects, schedules, and priorities simultaneously. Be a strong verbal and written communicator. Demonstrate a passion for process improvement, efficiency, and accountability. Be capable of identifying bottlenecks and resolving production-flow issues quickly and professionally. Have experience creating production packets and production scheduling models. Understand workflow management and production operations within a manufacturing environment. Be comfortable leading meetings, coordinating between departments, and maintaining visibility into production status.
