Learn more about Olympic Steel at iamolympicsteel.com Job Description We are looking for a skilled and driven Fabrication Manager with a strong background in metal fabrication and production. This role is responsible for team leadership, identifying areas of opportunity, and leading continuous improvement initiatives to boost overall efficiency and utilization. The position will oversee the development and implementation of standard operating procedures and support capital expense planning for new plant, property, and equipment investments. You will work closely with all departments to ensure alignment across projects and operations. A thorough understanding of inventory management, customer service, budget planning, and quality control is essential, along with a solid foundation in lean manufacturing principles. The ideal candidate will have experience in operational development and change management, developing effective policies, and executing strategic improvements. Strong project management skills, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to communicate across all levels of the organization are key. This role also involves training team members on safety, quality standards, and operational best practices to support a high-performing and compliant work environment.
Pay Range:
$100,000.00 - $150,000.00 annually
Qualifications:
4 yr degree in Manufacturing, Engineering preferred. Degree in Business or other with applicable experience. 7+ yrs Experience in General Operations, Fabrication, or Assembly operations, multiple processes. Large OEM experience with knowledge of Lean and Standard Processes is preferred. Strong Leadership Skills, ability to work in fast-paced Environment with less structure than optimal Strong Experience in Lean, Six Sigma, Process development, strategic development Strong Experience and Understanding of Fabrication processes (Burn, Bend, Stamping, Machining, and Welding) Various ERP experience with understanding of how they operate Strong Business acumen, with financial understanding of cost accounting Demonstrated success in leading a team, change management, and results Metric Focused and Data Driven.
