Overview We are seeking a highly motivated Manufacturing Automation Manager to lead our automation initiatives within our manufacturing operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive efficiency, innovation, and continuous improvement through the deployment of industrial automation systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in robotics, PLC programming, industrial controls, and lean manufacturing principles to optimize production processes and ensure seamless integration of automated equipment. Duties Lead the design, development, and implementation of manufacturing automation systems utilizing robotics such as Fanuc robotic systems and industrial robotic solutions. Oversee the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of PLC systems including ladder logic (LD) programming and industrial controls to maximize equipment uptime. Configure human-machine interface (HMI) systems for operator interaction, ensuring user-friendly interfaces and effective data visualization. Manage industrial electrical systems, including schematic reading and interpretation, electrical wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting of industrial electrical components. Collaborate with engineering teams on root cause analysis for automation-related issues and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Develop and maintain detailed documentation such as schematics using AutoCAD, system layouts, control panel wiring diagrams, and process flowcharts. Drive continuous improvement initiatives through lean manufacturing principles, optimizing tooling, vision inspection systems, and distributed control systems for efficiency gains. Skills Extensive experience with Fanuc robotics and industrial robotic systems programming. Proficiency in PLC programming languages such as ladder logic (LD), troubleshooting PLC systems, and performing PLC system installation and repair. Strong understanding of industrial networks including Ethernet/IP, Profibus, or similar protocols. Solid knowledge of industrial electrical systems, schematics reading/interpretation, and electrical schematic design tools like AutoCAD. Hands-on experience practicing in an industrial or manufacturing engineering role focused on automation implementation. Expertise in integrating human-machine interface (HMI) configuration for operational control panels. Knowledge of lean manufacturing methodologies combined with experience in CGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) environments is a plus. Mechanical aptitude for tooling setup and maintenance alongside electrical troubleshooting skills. Ability to perform root cause analysis on complex automation issues using engineering troubleshooting techniques.
