We serve the St. Charles, Lincoln, Warren, and surrounding counties of Missouri. We value our Employees, Safety, Accountability, and Trust. We are looking to hire a full-time Ready-Mix Concrete Plant Manager to manage one of our plant and building supply yards. About The Position The Ready-Mix Concrete Plant Manager will oversee the operation and maintenance of a transit mix concrete batch plant, equipment, and trucks, ensuring they are in good working condition. This role involves collaborating with the Ready-Mix GM, Redi-Rock GM, QC Manager and other Plant Managers to ensure the efficient production and dependable delivery of quality concrete to job sites. The manager will supervise and train plant personnel, ensuring adherence to all safety, environmental, maintenance, and regulatory requirements. Key responsibilities include monitoring raw material inventories and concrete quality and quantity. All managers are to govern themselves, in both personal behavior and appearance, to emulate the core values of the company. Requirements Previous experience in all aspects of Ready Mix Concrete, batching, delivery, as well as supervisory skills. Full Time, hourly with overtime, 45-60 hours seasonally. Attendance on time each and every day. Proven experience in ready-mix concrete production, COMMAND ALKON, and plant management. Leadership and supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse workforce. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations and a commitment to enforcing them. Familiar with maintenance and troubleshooting of concrete production equipment. Requires walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree. Must be able to perform all job functions which include, but may not be limited to, pushing, turning, and/or pulling of controls. Must be able to climb a ladder and work at heights up to 80 feet. Exposure to extreme heat, extreme cold, high noise, and working outdoors is sometimes part of the job. Must wear personal protective equipment when required. Work is Monday through Friday but must be willing to work Saturdays on a rotating basis and nights on the rare occasion. Must possess a valid Missouri issued driver's license (Preferably a Class A CDL). Must be able to pass a drug test. Responsibilities Ensure the opening and closing of plant facilities according to company policies, procedures, and guidelines. Supervise and ensure that batch plant operators, drivers, loader operators, and yard workers are properly trained and adhering to all company safety, environmental, maintenance, and regulatory requirements. Oversee plant maintenance including lubrication schedule, spill clean-up, dust collector maintenance, silo clean-up, yard and batch house general housekeeping. Work with dispatch, Sales, QC, and other Plant Managers to expedite production and dependable delivery of quality concrete to job sites. Make regular plant inspections to look and listen for plant problems. Ensure that daily inspections of hoppers, plants, conveyors and other equipment are performed. Ensure that repairs are made for any equipment problems or safety issues in a timely manner to prevent accidents or quality control issues. Display a professional and courteous attitude to customers, co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times. Monitor raw material inventories for quantities and quality to meet industry standards. Monitor baghouse and dust collectors for emissions. Conduct regular employee meetings and provide a positive working environment. Track employee attendance and coordinate with H/R to avoid understaffing. Complete company documentation of HR, Accident, Incident, and Field issues according to company policy in a timely manner. Ensure that you and the batch plant operator have the plant ready, correct materials are in bins and cement inventories are adequately scheduled for the next day prior to leaving for the day. Ensure that the batch plant operator arrives at least 30-60 minutes prior to drivers to open plant. Ensure that end of the day procedures including ticket organization, computer and plant shut down are performed. Communicate with dispatcher to verify jobs status, mix designs for projects are correct for next day or ensure that batch plant operator has performed this. Work with sales and dispatch to meet the customers' requirements, maintain positive working relationships, and ensure on time delivery of concrete. Follow environmental rules and procedures to ensure the batch plant and yard comply with federal, state, local laws and company requirements. Operate plant equipment including front-end loader as needed and assist in training of loader and batch plant operators. Work with the batch plant operator, loader operators and other personnel to improve efficiency, quality of concrete and solve problems. Oversee the handling of returned concrete and manages waste piles. Be willing to perform and/or assist in other duties as needed to operate and maintain concrete batch plants, trucks and equipment in operation as assigned by management. Adhere to all company, DNR, and OSHA rules and regulations at all times. Benefits
