Job Description

Fence & Deck Depot, founded in 2001, installs fences and decks to both residential and commercial customers. We view ourselves as a services company that builds fences and decks. As one of the largest providers in the St. Louis market, we are a team of over 50 people and install over 40 miles of residential fencing and 52k square feet of decking annually. Fence & Deck Depot will continue to evolve and diversify, always striving to exceed customers' expectations We are looking for an experienced Assistant Production Supervisor for our Fence Department located in our St. Charles, MO, office. This individual operates in a project management capacity and is the point-person for customer communications. This position reports to the Production Manager of the Fence Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
:
  • Communicates daily with customers whose project is currently under construction, providing daily status updates while addressing customer concerns and questions.
  • Serves as the primary point of contact for both recent customers and those who have not yet had their project installed.
  • Performs site visits, including pre and post installation, project scope reviews, and addresses customer concerns.
  • Supervising and supporting crews as they are in the field, including material runs and crew calls.
  • Troubleshoots technical issues with the project and follows through appropriately, such as completing change orders, consulting with Sales, management, the installation crews, or others as needed.
  • Coordinates and manages Pier inspection requests and Digrite calls.
  • Partners with the production manager to prepare custom bids, future job reviews, completed job reviews and fields project advisor calls.
  • Coordinates with back-office support to provide accurate information for invoicing and customer follow up upon job completion.
  • Leads by example and provides guidance regarding company policies and procedures such as safety, installation techniques, attendance, conduct and dress code.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned by manager.
QUALIFICATIONS
Commitment to ensure the team succeeds with all tasks, duties, and projects Willingness to help a team member in need and Commitment to making sure team members are informed on any developments related to projects or the company's overall business. Ability to read and analyze or interpret design plans. Must be able to track job progress and meet deadlines. Must have a keen eye for detail and quality work. Must be excellent communicator with customers, subs, technicians, and project managers including, at times, skilled conflict resolution. Must understand what it takes to give world class customer service. Proficient with Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook, smart phone apps. Ability to scope work, do take-offs, estimate costs and determine pricing. Ability to influence and lead employees of various skill levels and experience to ensure desired end result. Must be the kind of leader that jumps in and "gets your hands dirty" every day to see that projects get done, done well and on time. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday with limited weekend hours as needed.
Experience:
A minimum of 3 years of construction or carpentry experience is required. Accomplishments in project management is required. Previous experience leading work teams is helpful but not required. Prior experience in scoping work, take-offs, cost estimating and pricing.
