Foundry Manager The Foundry Manager oversees all Foundry operations within the plant to ensure that all projects, parts, materials and supplies are in a positive flow. The Foundry Manager will work closely with the General Manager and will be responsible for ensuring that all machines are functional and all safety standards are adhered to.
Key responsibilities include:
Provide leadership and direction to the Foundry team. Maintain a safe work environment. Completes the daily production plan, by scheduling and assigning personnel, adjusts schedule as needed and reports any production problems. Manage Foundry operations to achieve higher output. Cultivate Continuous Improvement by removing waste and establishing Lean Principals. Manage performance of the Foundry staff. Assist Human Resources with recruiting and onboard new hires. Own and review Key Performance Indicators (KPI) during Daily Run the Business (DRB) manufacturing meetings.
Requirements:
Proven managerial experience. Understanding of Lean Manufacturing practices. Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgets, planning, resource allocation) Computer literacy (Microsoft, Google, ERP) Ability to create accountability and lead by example. Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills. Ability to work hours, as required, that are appropriate to completing projects, tasks and daily throughput on time. Other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
Drive day to day Delivery, Safety, Quality and cost reduction to ensure expected outputs. Instill the Voice of the Customer (VOC) throughout the production process so all departments have their customer in mind. Be a strong leader that will listen, engage and encourage employees' suggestions and input to achieve excellent results. Drive a positive work environment through strong communication. Drive operational efficiencies and cost reduction.
Experience:
3 to 5 years in a production management or supervisory role. Lean Manufacturing and or Lean 6 Sigma experience. Proficient in both Microsoft and Google suites.
