Assistant Plant Manager

Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on, bilingual (English/Spanish) Assistant Plant Manager to support the daily operation, performance, and continuous improvement of our industrial laundry facility. This role works closely with the Plant Manager and department supervisors to improve safety, quality, productivity, labor efficiency, cost, and on-time delivery.
Schedule:
Monday-Thursday | Four 10-hour days Key Responsibilities Help manage daily plant operations, staffing, workflow, and production priorities. Monitor KPIs including production efficiency, labor hours, overtime, rewash, quality, downtime, and cost per piece. Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve throughput and labor efficiency. Lead and support Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives using tools such as 5S, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, 5 Whys, Standard Work, and Visual Management. Identify opportunities to reduce overtime, waste, rewash, product loss, downtime, and other operating costs. Partner with supervisors, Quality, and Maintenance to resolve production, equipment, safety, and quality issues. Coach and develop supervisors and production leaders while establishing clear expectations and accountability. Maintain a strong presence on the production floor and lead by example. Qualifications Bilingual in English and Spanish required. 3-5+ years of management or supervisory experience in manufacturing, industrial production, laundry, textile, or a comparable high-volume environment. Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles. Proven ability to identify inefficiencies and implement cost-saving solutions. Strong leadership, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience using production metrics and performance data. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment. Preferred Lean Six Sigma or formal Lean training, experience with Kaizen projects, budgeting/labor forecasting, large hourly workforces, or industrial laundry/textile processing. Work Schedule & Environment This position works a 4-day, 10-hour schedule, Monday through Thursday. This is a hands-on plant leadership position, not a desk-only management role. The Assistant Plant Manager will spend significant time on the production floor working around industrial laundry equipment and supporting employees and supervisors.
Pay:
$65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
