Type:
full-time Senior Operations Leader / General Manager | Southern Tier, NY We're seeking an experienced Operations / General Manager to lead a complex manufacturing operation supporting the nuclear power and military propulsion markets . This leader will have end-to-end responsibility for site operations, including manufacturing, engineering, planning, procurement, quality, facilities, and financial performance. The focus will be on customer delivery, operational excellence, capacity growth, continuous improvement, and developing a high-performing leadership team.
Key priorities:
- Lead and optimize site manufacturing operations
- Drive on-time delivery, quality, productivity, and cost performance
- Manage capacity, backlog, capital investment, and operational growth
- Develop a strong operations leadership team
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement
- Oversee supply chain, inventory, and working capital objectives
- Lead labor relations in a union environment
- Build a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
Ideal Background:
- 10+ years of progressive manufacturing/operations leadership
- Proven experience leading a complex manufacturing site or business unit
- Lean/Six Sigma and continuous improvement expertise
- Strong financial and operational acumen
- Experience in nuclear, defense, aerospace, or another highly regulated manufacturing environment preferred
- Union/labor relations experience strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field Why this opportunity?
