Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead our production team and oversee daily shop operations. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines engineering, manufacturing, and operations management. The ideal candidate is a mechanical/manufacturing engineer who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, leading people, and working alongside employees to produce high-quality products. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (required) or equivalent Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate production employees Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all daily shop operations and production activities. Supervise, train, and support a team of 1-4 production employees. Work alongside employees in lumber processing and manufacturing operations as needed. Fill customer orders accurately and efficiently. Coordinate shipping and delivery from order fulfillment through final delivery to the customer. Maintain high standards for safety, quality, productivity, and customer satisfaction. Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing processes, equipment, and workflow. Required Skills & Experience Experience setting up and operating woodworking machinery, including: Saws, Straight-line rip saws, Moulder machines, Other millwork equipment Experience using Autodesk Inventor for drafting and design. Familiarity with PLCs , HMIs ; ladder logic, and basic programming nice to have but not required. Ability to operate a flatbed truck (not a primary responsibility). Ability to operate a forklifts truck and train others (not a primary responsibility). Preferred Qualifications Experience with CNC machining and automated manufacturing systems, including robotics. Experience setting up and operating metalworking equipment, including engine lathes and milling machines. Fabrication and welding experience. Light electrical troubleshooting and repair experience.
