The production manager will supervise, lead and coach direct and indirect reports to meet production, quality and safety goals. in this role you will be responsible for the following: Role and Responsibilities- Oversee production activities in a 24 hour / 5-7 day a week operation
- Provide molding process support
- Make production improvements and implement cost saving initiatives
- Analyze issues, anticipate and resolve problems, recommend improvements and implement required changes
- Promote a clean and safe working environment
- Communication with internal departments on production goals and deadlines
- Coach, mentor, evaluate and discipline employees as necessary on production, safety, and quality (including GMP and Product Safety) Expectations
- Provide day to day leadership of the facilities operations and development of employees
- Produce solutions and use appropriate problem-solving techniques to resolve plant issues
- Supervise crews to obtain top-quality workmanship and efficiency,
- Direct mold setting activities
- Document molding press set ups
- Leading and assisting with continuous improvement initiatives and process improvements
- Evaluating production levels and proposing adjustments for efficiency Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
- At least 3 years in a similar manufacturing and/or operations environment in a leadership role
- Proven experience as Production Leadership in a manufacturing facility
- Experience making process improvements to the manufacturing process
- Ability to direct and implement environmental, health, and safety policies and procedures
- Ability to lead team members toward the achievement of company goals
- Plastics industry experience required
