General Description:

The Production Manager is tasked with overseeing the production process in the anchor bolt division in Masury, OH. Responsibilities encompass planning and organizing production schedules, assessing project and resource requirements, setting quality standards, and estimating timescales and costs. The production scheduler and production supervisor report directly to the production manager. This role involves significant supervision and management of staff, including recruiting, training, supervising, and motivating a team of workers and production staff. Additionally, a Production Manager is responsible for selecting, ordering, and purchasing materials, managing inventory, and ensuring that materials are ordered and delivered on time. One of the critical aspects of this role is the continuous improvement of all operations. It is vital that the production manager can generate ideas and implement lean manufacturing. Monitoring product standards and implementing quality control measures are also central to this position, as the final product must meet predetermined quality standards. This role requires effective liaison with different departments. Adherence to health and safety regulations is a crucial responsibility to prevent accidents and injuries in the workplace. Moreover, the Production Manager must be adept at problem-solving and troubleshooting, ready to address issues that arise during production, including technical faults or human resource challenges. Implementing and overseeing cost-control measures to ensure production is cost-effective and within budget is also part of the job. Our Production Manager role is critical to coordinating production scheduling, material flow, inventory control, and communication between Programming, Sales, Shipping, and the Burn/Crane Bay so customer orders are completed safely, efficiently, accurately, and on time. What You'll Do As a Production Manager, you will: Process all cutsheets and cross-cut reports for completeness and accuracy. Maintain daily operator schedules adjusted to account for scheduled PTO days, burn schedules, master production schedule, and shipping schedules. Prioritize work based on customer commitments, machine capacity, and material availability. Coordinate with Programming on material selection, nesting priorities, and production sequences. Communicate schedule changes to production personnel and related departments. Track inbound material and notify Crane Bay of receiving priorities and plans. Provide cutback instructions when required to maintain legal inbound loads from sister facilities. Coordinate with Sales regarding due dates, customer priorities, and revised ETAs. Manage plate and parts inventory using quarterly cycle counts and annual physical inventory; work may be performed directly or scheduled with team members depending on customer and quantity requirements. Investigate inventory discrepancies and maintain accurate records. Fill out NCM files for non-conforming parts and materials. Schedule table cleanings and coordinate required downtime. Maintain slat inventory and order replacements before minimum stock is reached. Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to reduce downtime. Generate production, inventory, and scheduling reports. Support continuous improvement of scheduling and inventory processes. Perform other related duties as assigned.
