Job Description

Description:
The Operations Manager is responsible for directing and coordinating the daily operations of the manufacturing plant, including but not limited to production, quality, and other production related activities. This includes developing efficiency strategies to ensure the plant meets production goals and standards at minimal manufacturing costs. Responsibilities also include hiring, training, safety and strong lean knowledge and implementation with accountability of budgets.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and execute the plant manufacturing budgets. Provide day to day leadership for the successful operation of the facility. Coordinate plant activities through the planning with supervisors to ensure the total manufacturing objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost effective manner. Working closely with Cost Accounting, will estimate production cost and effect changes for management review, action, and control. Working closely with Quality Manager to ensure work instructions are being followed to ensure a quality product for the customer. Maintain and support a superior safety and housekeeping program, including all timely communication initiatives. Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to all operations employees. Drive lean initiatives to improve the flow of work, lead Kaizen events and visual management. Monitor operation expenses and ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality.
Requirements:
Help develop and execute the plant manufacturing budgets. Five or more years of progressive experience in a key leadership/management role in a manufacturing facility Experience with lean manufacturing principles, 5-S, Six Sigma, safety, quality systems. Strong analytical and decision-making skills. Excellent interpersonal communication and listening skills. Computer literacy (Microsoft Office software) Strong planning, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills. Education and/or
Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business / Engineering / Management / Operations 7+ years experience in a manufacturing environment
