Description:
Oregon Corrections Enterprises (OCE) is seeking a Production Manager to supervise the day-to-day operational and production output of OCE business units at TRCI which include: Laundry, Upholstery, and Wood Fabrication. The Production Manager will create a world-class, lean operation that is focused on OCE's customers and flexible enough to adapt to changing customer needs. This role provides leadership and creates change to improve on processes, quality, safety, cost, and efficiency throughout operations. The ideal candidate will encourage teamwork and collaboration while providing a positive work environment. This position supports the General Manager and partners with the Department of Corrections (DOC) superintendent and institution staff with the common goals of Measure 17 compliance (Adults in Custody work skills development and institution safety and security). This position offers a competitive compensation package including employer paid health, vision, dental, paid time off, and retirement through the Oregon Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), and 11 paid holidays per year.
Desired Knowledge and Skills:
Leadership/supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting Customer Service Staff Management and development Operational and process improvement Experienced in expanding business operations from an innovative lens Attention to detail Willingness and demonstrated ability to be a continuous learner Serves as a role model and ensures safe work behavior and practices by staff and assigned AIC workers Budget planning, preparation and implementation for an agency or organization Experience in long-term projection planning Experience in lean manufacturing
Working Conditions:
Long period of standing and walking on concrete floors; occasional lifting; working in noisy environment; working with chemicals Ability to bend, reach, twist, flex, lift, and carry loads up to 40 lbs without assistive devices Ability to walk combined distances up to 2-3 miles daily Ability to climb stairs without assistive aid Overnight travel may be occasionally required
Minimum Qualifications:
Seven (7) years of supervisory experience in a laundry or manufacturing facility with oversight and responsibility for operational performance results and development, program evaluation, and budget management. OR Four (4) years of management experience in a laundry or manufacturing facility with oversight and responsibility for operational performance results and development, program evaluation, and budget management.
