Synergy:

when driven individuals come together with purpose, the results are exceptional. Join the Synergy family today, and help us build the future of modular manufacturing — one structure at a time.

POSITION SUMMARY

Synergy Structures is seeking an experienced, hands-on Plant Manager to lead our modular manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of modular or manufactured housing production and a proven track record of leading people, improving throughput, controlling costs, and building a culture of accountability and safety. This leadership role carries primary accountability for plant performance — including workforce management, production planning and scheduling, quality, safety, material flow, labor efficiency, maintenance coordination, and budget performance — ensuring the facility consistently meets production, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Operational Leadership Direct and oversee all production activities across the facility, ensuring efficient workflow, optimal use of materials, and on-time delivery of modular structures that meet company standards and third-party certifications. Establish daily, weekly, and monthly production priorities, adjusting floor operations as needed to keep output aligned with customer commitments. Serve as the primary decision-maker for plant-floor operational issues, escalating only matters requiring executive-level input. Team Management & Development Lead, coach, and mentor a diverse team of supervisors, assembly crews, and support staff, fostering a culture of accountability, respect, and continuous improvement. Recruit, train, and evaluate plant personnel; identify skill gaps and implement targeted training and cross-training programs. Conduct regular performance reviews, set individual and team development goals, and manage disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy. Production Planning & Scheduling Develop and implement detailed production schedules that meet delivery deadlines while maintaining flexibility to accommodate design changes, demand fluctuations, and resource constraints. Coordinate materials, labor, and equipment availability to prevent bottlenecks and minimize downtime. Partner with sales and project management teams to align production capacity with the sales order pipeline. Quality Assurance Ensure all manufactured structures meet or exceed company and industry standards for construction, finish, and regulatory compliance, and third-party agency inspections (ANSI and applicable state modular codes). Partner with engineering and the quality control department to identify root causes of defects and implement corrective and preventive process improvements.

▪ Establish and monitor quality checkpoints throughout the production line to catch issues before final inspection. Safety & Compliance Maintain a safe working environment through clear policies, proactive training, routine safety audits, and strict adherence to all OSHA and applicable building code standards. Investigate workplace incidents and near-misses, document findings and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. Advocate a plant-wide safety-first culture, ensuring PPE compliance and up-to-date safety certifications across all shifts. Process Improvement Identify and implement opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce waste through lean manufacturing principles, workflow optimization, and equipment utilization analysis. Lead continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., 5S, Kaizen) and track measurable outcomes from each initiative. Cross-Department Coordination Collaborate closely with engineering, procurement, shipping, and sales teams to forecast production needs, resolve cross-functional issues, and ensure complete modular structures are delivered on schedule. Act as the plant's key point of contact for cross-departmental communication regarding production status, delays, and resource needs. Budget Management Monitor plant expenses, labor hours, and resource allocation against budget; recommend and implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or workforce morale. Prepare and present budget variance reports and cost-control recommendations to senior management. Performance Monitoring & Reporting Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as throughput, labor efficiency, scrap and rework rates, and production cycle time. Report regularly to senior management with clear, actionable insights and recommendations for operational improvement. Innovation & Continuous Growth Encourage the adoption of new technologies, fabrication methods, and sustainable materials that improve productivity, product quality, and overall product appeal. Stay current on industry trends and best practices in modular construction, bringing relevant innovations back to the facility.

SUCCESS IN THE ROLE

The Plant Manager is expected to be a hands-on operational leader who owns plant performance from the production floor through final completion. Success is demonstrated through safe operations, reliable production schedules, strong quality, controlled labor and operating costs, effective material flow, accountable leadership, and measurable continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Experience & Education Minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing management experience in modular or manufactured home-building operations required. Proven track record of success leading large teams and consistently meeting aggressive production goals. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Technical & Functional Knowledge Strong understanding of modular construction methods, plant workflow, safety regulations, and quality control processes. Working knowledge of lean manufacturing practices, ERP systems, and production scheduling tools. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite and Fishbowl inventory/manufacturing software. Core Competencies Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey expectations across all levels of the organization. Strong problem-solving and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production environment. Demonstrated competency in conflict management, business negotiation, and sound, timely decision-making.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Primarily based on the manufacturing floor, with regular exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures typical of an industrial production environment. Ability to walk, stand, bend, and climb throughout the facility for extended periods during daily plant walkthroughs and inspections. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all facility safety protocols at all times. Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs. may be required.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Competitive salary commensurate with experience. Health, dental, and vision insurance. Retirement savings plan with company match. Paid time off and holidays. Opportunities for professional development and career advancement. Supportive, inclusive, and performance-driven culture. Access to cutting-edge tools and technology.
