$160,000 to $210,000 per year, plus bonus A food manufacturing plant in Sioux Falls, South Dakota is hiring a Plant Engineering Director to lead Maintenance and Engineering, ensuring peak equipment performance and minimal downtime. This role drives advanced maintenance strategies, including Preventive and Predictive Maintenance and TPM, and leads capital projects from concept to completion while upholding safety, food safety, and environmental standards. The Plant Engineering Director leads and develops the maintenance and engineering teams, building a high-performing, safety-focused department. Schedule Full-time. May require long hours and weekend work depending on plant needs. Compensation $160,000 to $210,000 per year, plus bonus. What You'll Do The Plant Engineering Director leads capital projects from concept to completion, managing all phases to minimize operational disruption while meeting safety, food safety, and environmental standards on time and on budget. The role drives development and execution of advanced maintenance strategies, including Preventive and Predictive Maintenance and TPM, to keep operations running at peak performance, and leads the maintenance team through task delegation, policy enforcement, and safety-first planning. The director serves as the primary problem solver for daily operational challenges, addressing both immediate troubleshooting and long-term fixes to reduce recurring issues. This role also develops and tracks Key Performance Indicators measuring maintenance function success, including equipment reliability, supplier performance, and overall equipment effectiveness, and leads and develops engineering teams through coaching, performance management, and collaboration with HR, fostering a culture of safety, communication, and recognition. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field, and 10 or more years of experience in engineering management, or a Master's degree in a related field with 8 or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience 5 or more years of experience in a leadership role, including team development and management Advanced technical skills in mechanical/electrical fields (PLCs, instrumentation, mechanical engineering) Thorough knowledge of maintenance systems, work order processes, preventive/predictive maintenance, and TPM Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and SAP Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills, including the ability to convey technical ideas to a non-technical audience Willingness to work long hours and weekends as needed Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of pork products and the meat industry Experience leading resource planning in a large manufacturing environment Strong presentation and interpersonal skills Compensation and Benefits $160,000 to $210,000 per year, plus bonus Medical, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) plan Paid time off To apply, submit your resume detailing your plant engineering and maintenance leadership experience.Benefits
