GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
The Production Manager shall be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the production processes within the plant. Activities will include scheduling workload, manpower planning, and working with quality personnel to insure product quality. This position will influence safety performance and measurements to assist in achieving Yankton's safety goals. Responsibility includes all activities required to coordinate the smooth, efficient flow of production through the shop.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop, lead and direct supervision for the daily production requirements in a safe, efficient, and quality manner. Work closely with the Plant Manager to ensure all goals and objectives for production are achieved in accordance to the business plan. Provide direction and leadership relative to product quality and customer acceptance, in conjunction with the Quality Assurance Department. Facilitate plant improvement efforts such as 5-S, safety, and product flow. Lead cost reduction programs through productivity, and fixed & variable cost control. Work with manufacturing engineering staff to implement capital improvements. Support all shifts in manpower planning, leadership, and goal setting objectives. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum seven years of management experience in a manufacturing environment. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Work schedule flexibility, with strong teamwork orientation. Demonstrate leadership ability, including experience in coaching and training others. Understand and support company policies and procedures. Highly organized, detail oriented with good problem solving skills.
EXPERTISE
Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles. Proficient in the use of Google software application along with the Microsoft suite software including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access.
EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering and/or Manufacturing/Operation Management.
INTERNAL & EXTERNAL CONNECTIONS
Internal interaction with members of management, Department Supervisors, Team Leads, and shop employees. External interaction with Supplier Reps and Equipment Techs as needed.
LOCALIZATION AND TRAVEL EXPECTED
This position is located in Yankton, SD. Travel up to 5% What does MANITOU Group offer? Above local legal requirements, of course
Compensation:
$90,000 - $120,000 plus 15% Bonus Work location:
