This position is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, reliable, and cost-effective execution of the production plan while driving performance across Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, and Cost. The Production Manager will lead and develop production supervisors and frontline teams, establish effective daily management routines, remove barriers to performance, and drive sustainable operational improvements. The ideal candidate is a visible, hands-on manufacturing leader who thrives on the production floor, holds teams accountable for results, and has a strong background in Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, employee development, and operational excellence. Key Responsibilities Lead daily manufacturing operations to ensure production plans are achieved safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Manage production supervisors and frontline manufacturing employees. Establish clear expectations and accountability for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Productivity. Ensure standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed consistently across production operations. Effectively allocate labor and resources to meet production requirements. Establish, monitor, and improve key production and operational performance metrics. Develop and execute recovery plans when production targets are at risk. Maintain a strong culture of workplace safety and ensure compliance with EHS policies and procedures. Ensure products consistently meet established quality standards and specifications. Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions related to operational and quality issues. Coach, mentor, and develop production supervisors and frontline employees. Foster a high-performance culture centered around accountability, engagement, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Partner with HR on talent development, succession planning, performance management, and employee relations. Identify and implement opportunities to improve productivity and reduce operating costs. Lead Lean Manufacturing and continuous-improvement initiatives. Apply structured problem-solving techniques to eliminate waste, improve processes, and increase operational performance. Ensure process improvements are standardized and sustained within daily operations. Work cross-functionally with Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Materials, EHS, HR, Supply Chain, and other departments. Support new product launches, process improvements, and operational transformation initiatives. Communicate production performance, risks, priorities, and improvement initiatives to plant leadership. Take ownership of production results, team performance, and operational execution. Proactively identify operational issues, implement solutions, and follow through to ensure sustainable results. Qualifications Proven production leadership experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment. Demonstrated experience managing production operations, supervisors, and frontline manufacturing teams. Strong knowledge of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Productivity, and operational performance management. Experience driving Lean Manufacturing and continuous-improvement initiatives. Proven ability to improve operational performance and implement sustainable process changes. Strong experience with root-cause analysis and structured problem-solving. Ability to analyze production and operational data and use it to drive decision-making. Demonstrated ability to develop, coach, and hold production teams accountable. Strong cross-functional experience working with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Materials, EHS, HR, and Supply Chain. Ability to make timely decisions and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Strong communication, leadership, and employee-engagement skills. Experience leading organizational or operational change while maintaining production performance. Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent manufacturing experience will be considered. Lean or Six Sigma certification is preferred. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is a hands-on manufacturing leader who is comfortable spending significant time on the production floor and understands how to lead through supervisors while maintaining strong relationships with frontline employees. This individual should have experience managing a high-volume manufacturing operation and a track record of improving safety, quality, productivity, cost, and delivery performance. Success in this role requires someone who takes ownership of results, identifies problems before they escalate, develops their team, and uses data and structured problem-solving to drive measurable and sustainable improvements. The role also requires someone capable of successfully leading operational change while maintaining employee engagement and performance.
