Position:
Production Manager Level:
Manager Summary:
The Production Manager plays a key role in the growth and success of Woven Metal Products by overseeing the entire production process and manufacturing facility in Alvin Texas. The Production Manager plans, directs, coordinates, schedules, and oversees all production activities at Woven Metal Products, with the goal of ensuring the development and implementation of efficient, cost-effective operations with on-time delivery. In addition to overseeing the daily workflow, this role spearheads all personnel management related to production, including recruiting, interviewing, hiring, training, and review of production staff.

Minimum 40 hours, seasonally increases up to 80 hours a week with many weeks averaging 45-55 hours
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Implement production operations strategy in alignment with company plan and customer needs
  • Champion a culture of "Safety First" by overseeing strict compliance with OSHA standards and company specific protocols, actively manage the use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), enforce adherence to established operational procedures, and champion industry best practices to minimize workplace hazards and ensure an injury-free production environment
  • Lead comprehensive safety training for all production personnel, covering applicable OSHA required topics, including hazard communication, machine guarding, lockout/tagout, emergency response, and PPE, as well as plant specific procedures, equipment hazards, and best practices.
Maintain accurate training records and reinforce expectations through regular refreshers, toolbox talks, and hands on coaching
  • Maintain schedule of current projects and coordinate daily tasks according to priorities, plans those projects and tasks with Foremen, may need to update multiple times a day in order to ensure company success
  • Collaborate with other divisions and leaders to carry out the organization's goals and objectives, while supplying guidance on production projects and systems
  • Evaluate and advise on fabrication execution strategy and methods
  • Create and execute policies and programs to maximize capacity and ensure high quality and low costs
  • Lead production organization for establishing teamwork and morale and develop plans for shop staff
  • Guarantee excellent communications in the organization at the corporate level
  • Supervise entire production process and facility, prioritizing projects according to due dates and material availability, shifting when rush projects arise, in order to produce high quality products
  • Set up cost control standards, waste reduction and production processes to maximize output
  • Assess reports to measure productivity and determine improvement areas
  • Set up, execute, and enforce departmental goals and procedures
  • Evaluate opportunities for improvement and new product development-based market objectives
  • Troubleshooting liaison with division leads
  • Ensure accurate E2 data entry, addressing time clocking and job traveler inaccuracies when they arise
  • Enter and Review nonconformance reports
  • Oversee all staffing and personnel issues related to direct reports
  • Monitor and maintain a record of employee trainings to understand which employees have completed which trainings and what is generally needed overall
  • Maintain overall production maintenance schedules
  • Establish policies related to material usage, capacity planning, production methods, and employee relations to enhance operational efficiency
  • Train and mentor direct reports, nurturing an environment where they can excel through encouragement and empowerment
  • Provide regular informal feedback, as well as formal feedback for performance reviews, and coaching for team members under this role's supervision
  • Uphold leadership values of integrity, excellence, innovation and collaboration; displaying respect and a positive attitude in all interactions with the team and customers
Qualifications:
  • College degree required
  • At least 5 years management experience, industry experience preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Ability to read technical documents and engineering specifications is preferred
  • Self-motivated, ability to work with little to no supervision
Pay:
$110,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
