Project Manager, Megafactory & Megapod Manufacturing Tool Install Tesla Motors, Inc. United States, Texas, Brookshire Sep 17, 2026

What to Expect As a Tool Install Project Manager for Texas Megafactories, you will play a critical role in the buildout of Tesla's next-generation energy storage and modular compute factories. You will drive new manufacturing line installation, capacity upgrades, operational readiness, and system optimization for the programs to achieve lighting fast start of production with safety and quality as the highest priorities. You will manage general contractors, subcontractors, and internal self-perform teams across trades to install highly automated production lines, collaborating cross-functionally with construction engineering, design, facilities, commissioning, and manufacturing as the factory transitions to production operations. From both the field and office, you will own budgets and schedules from program launching to full ramp. The role requires 40%-50% travel. You will also support pre-construction planning and benchmark execution for future Megafactories. What You'll Do

Takes ownership of assigned projects, ensuring long-term customer satisfaction, opportunities, and cost savings for Tesla

Evaluates bidding, material buyouts, and negotiating opportunities for potential and assigned projects

Maintains effective communication with Tesla personnel, including QC, QA, CX, and Facilities

Completes project startup procedures, including but not limited to: Making projections, budgeting, and performing job cost entry for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontracts.

Prepares major purchase orders while following appropriate pricing and scope evaluations.

Reviews project plans, P&ID's, single-line diagrams, and loop diagrams to account for all material and hardware

Manages projects according to Tesla specifications, procedures, and policies What You'll Bring

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Effective reasoning and judgment skills

Proficiency with or ability to learn how to use Primavera, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Suite, accounting software, estimating software, and other required systems and software

Ability to read and interpret all contract documents, plans, specifications, and requirements

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and capitalize on project opportunities

Knowledge of trade terms, materials, methods, codes, contract and specification language, bidding methods, National Electric Code, electrical engineering fundamentals, purchasing processes, and accounting concepts
