Job Description

Job Summary The Plant Supply Chain Manager drives supply chain efficiency from supplier to store shelf while supporting the lowest shelf-delivered cost. This role leads and improves production planning, purchasing, materials receiving, warehousing, outbound shipping, inventory management, product configuration, distribution, and financial forecasting. The position is also a key leader in the facility launch and ongoing use of the M3 enterprise system, coordinating across departments to deliver sustainable results. The Plant Supply Chain Manager uses data-driven decision-making and a first-time-right philosophy to manage risk, strengthen cross-functional performance, and support plant results in Safety, Quality, Reliability, and Customer 1st. Essential Job Functions Plan for and oversee the launch of the M3 enterprise system as it relates to supply chain and materials management. Lead production planning, buying, materials receiving, warehousing, inventory control, and outbound shipping activities. Supervise, coach, and develop direct reports; complete performance reviews and provide regular feedback. Use data and analytics to support sound decision-making across teams and departments, including appropriate data-management methods and workflows. Serve as a member of site leadership, providing collaborative guidance and support across functions. Network with Kroger materials supply leaders to share best practices and create synergies. Partner with merchandising and sales planning to optimize production and procurement for customer requirements. Manage ordering for ingredients, packaging materials, and purchased finished goods through team members to meet production needs. Manage the production scheduling process to optimize customer service, working capital, and reliability. Develop processes and procedures that support continuous improvement and accountability among departments and external suppliers. Help establish and manage finished-goods and raw-material budgets, including significant purchasing decisions made with limited tools or information. Apply risk-management practices to purchasing, inventory, supply continuity, and financial decisions; evaluate lessons learned and implement corrective actions. Coordinate production for new product introductions and manage inventory and supply for outsourced finished goods sold by the plant. Provide commodity, ingredient, and packaging buyers with timely projections on requested items. Provide Marketing with information on slow-moving items and help reduce product going out of date. Follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce safe, quality foods that meet regulatory and company requirements. Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of SQF and food-safety systems. Remain accountable to Kroger Manufacturing Food Safety and Quality Principles and work safely around ingredients and finished products that may contain food allergens. Perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience. 4+ years of supply chain management experience in food manufacturing or another regulated industry. Experience leading buying and planning, materials management, receiving, warehousing, inventory, or outbound shipping functions. Experience implementing or supporting enterprise systems; M3 experience is preferred. Strong planning, task management, organizational, and prioritization skills across multiple functions. Strong analytical thinking, creative problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making skills. Ability to synthesize complex information, recognize data relationships and dependencies, assess risk, and design effective workflows and procedures. Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to build collaborative working relationships and develop team members. Proficient Microsoft Office skills. Desired Qualifications 6+ years of related supply chain experience in the food industry. Strong background in food processing, packaging, food safety, and manufacturing operations involving powered industrial equipment. Experience with Power BI or Tableau; Alteryx experience is a plus. Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives, managing large purchasing decisions, and improving supply chain processes. Experience with SQF, HACCP, or comparable food-safety systems.
