As the PCB manufacturing technical program manager, you will be responsible for the programs that take printed circuit board designs from layout release through fabrication, assembly, and delivery into the hands of our research teams. You will be a critical member of the PCB Design & Manufacturing team, partnering with a multi-disciplinary group of researchers, hardware, sourcing, and legal teams, as well as external fabrication and assembly partners. You will define requirements and deliverables, build and drive schedules, manage vendor relationships and NPI readiness, and keep the big picture in focus while digging into the details when it counts. Successful candidates demonstrate the ability to navigate ambiguity, learn new domains quickly, and drive process improvements that increase team efficiency.
PCB Manufacturing Technical Program Manager Responsibilities:
Own end-to-end program management for PCB fabrication and assembly, from design release through delivery, across a portfolio of concurrent research builds Build, maintain, and communicate schedules across multiple teams and suppliers set milestones, report statuses, and surface and resolve risks early Manage external PCB fabrication and assembly partners: capability assessment, quoting, NPI readiness, build tracking, escalation, and performance review Partner with engineering and sourcing on supplier evaluation, selection, qualification, and security protocol Implement and improve practices that protect Meta Reality Labs Research's intellectual property and any confidential data shared with third parties Work closely with internal customers to understand their goals, requirements, and build priorities, and translate them into executable manufacturing plans Drive quality and yield improvement with suppliers and internal stakeholders support root-cause analysis and corrective action on build issues Develop and scale best practices, tools, and processes for design release, documentation, and manufacturing handoff in a fast-changing environment Drive effective teamwork, communication, and commitment across disparate groups with competing priorities Proactively identify technical, legal, procedural, logistical, and communications issues, and drive creative solutions to manage risk
Minimum Qualifications:
4+ years of program or project management experience in hardware, research, or consumer product development Proven track record of managing PCB fabrication and/or assembly programs with external manufacturing partners Demonstrated ability to build and maintain schedules across multiple teams, allocate and manage shared resources, and partner with legal on IP and related matters Experience in owning and managing a team's budget, including forecasting, tracking spend, and reporting against plan Skilled at translating complex technical information into clear terms for non-technical audiences Experience organizing and planning complex, multi-workstream programs, including defining milestones, tracking deliverables, and managing dependencies Effective interpersonal skills, with experience in navigating and resolving conflict Experience working autonomously and driving alignment across multiple teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with continuous integration practices and Agile development methodologies Experience managing projects with remote or distributed teams Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements) Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies Experience with SVN, Git, or similar version control systems Familiarity with IPC standards and

quality and inspection practices Familiarity with PCB layout design, design-for-manufacturing (DFM), and release operations Experience working with international hardware manufacturing partners Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
