Position Summary The Area Manager leads production execution for a designated stage of ship construction, with accountability for safety, quality, cost, productivity, and schedule performance. This role oversees large manufacturing teams through front-line and middle management supervisors, while collaborating with Senior Leadership, union personnel, customers, inspectors, and suppliers to ensure compliance, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives. Domestic and international travel may be required. Essential Functions Lead safety, quality, cost, productivity, and schedule performance for assigned Stage of Construction (SOC) Supervise and develop Foremen and production workforce Drive Lean Manufacturing, 5S and continuous improvement initiatives Oversee production planning, scheduling, resources, and coordination to meet operational requirements Monitor daily production metrics and resolve issues to minimize delays and costs Complete incident investigations, JSAs, inspections, audits, and corrective actions as needed Collaborate with support departments and union personnel to improve workflow and efficiency Prepare and communicate performance updates, reports, and initiatives to Senior Leadership Other duties as assigned
