Job Description
Plant Manager We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Plant Manager to lead manufacturing operations and drive excellence across production, quality, safety, maintenance, and continuous improvement. This hands-on leadership role is ideal for a professional with a strong mechanical engineering background, experience in precision manufacturing, knowledge of PLC-controlled systems, and expertise with ERP platforms. Key Responsibilities Lead all plant operations including production, maintenance, quality, inventory, shipping/receiving, and facility management. Develop and execute strategies to improve safety, quality, productivity, delivery, and profitability. Manage, mentor, and develop supervisors, managers, and production teams. Monitor and improve KPIs including OEE, labor efficiency, throughput, scrap reduction, and on-time delivery. Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives. Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Manage plant budgets, capital projects, and cost-reduction programs. Support automation efforts and troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment when necessary. Utilize ERP systems for production planning, scheduling, inventory control, purchasing, and reporting. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions related to quality, equipment, and production issues. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master's Degree preferred. 15+ years of manufacturing experience, including 7+ years in plant leadership or operations management. Proven success in precision manufacturing environments. Strong knowledge of PLC systems, automation, manufacturing equipment, and controls. Extensive ERP system experience for planning, scheduling, inventory management, and reporting. Demonstrated leadership in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and operational excellence initiatives. Experience managing budgets, capital expenditures, and continuous cost improvement efforts. Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems. Six Sigma certification and/or advanced continuous improvement training. Experience with CNC machining, metal fabrication, or precision manufacturing processes.
