Our operation includes automated and manual spray finishing, paint booths, the Sherwin-Williams Aurora finishing system, paints, stains and clear coats, along with material handling, packaging and staging. This position is for someone who knows how to lead a crew while working alongside them . We need someone who can walk onto the production floor, understand what needs to happen that day, organize multiple orders moving through different stages of production, assign the crew, maintain quality standards, solve problems as they come up, and keep production moving. What You'll Be Responsible For Lead and coordinate the daily work of the paint and production crew Organize multiple customer orders moving through production simultaneously Prioritize work according to production schedules, deadlines, coating requirements and cure times Assign employees to spraying, prep, material handling, packaging and other production tasks Operate and oversee professional spray equipment and paint booths Operate and help oversee our Sherwin-Williams Aurora automated finishing system Apply and work with primers, paints, stains and clear coats Set up and adjust spray guns, tips, pressure and spray patterns Inspect finished products for coverage, consistency, color and overall finish quality Identify and correct runs, sags, dry spray, overspray, uneven coverage, contamination and other finish defects Verify colors, products, finishes and order specifications before and during production Oversee surface preparation, masking and material preparation Coordinate drying/curing, material movement and production staging Safely operate forklifts and material-handling equipment Oversee handling of siding, trim, windows and doors throughout the finishing process Coordinate packaging, wrapping, labeling, palletizing and staging of completed orders Protect finished products from scratches, dents, sticking and other handling damage Maintain clean spray equipment, booths, pumps, lines and production areas Help troubleshoot equipment and production problems Monitor paint, stain, coatings, spray supplies, filters, PPE and packaging materials Read and follow production work orders accurately Communicate production issues, material shortages, damaged products and potential delays to management Train employees on proper production procedures, equipment use and quality expectations Maintain a clean, organized and safe production environment Enforce company safety procedures, PPE requirements and proper coating/material handling What We're Looking For We're looking for someone with previous experience in production finishing, commercial painting, industrial coatings, cabinet or millwork finishing, automotive refinishing, manufacturing paint-line operations, wood finishing or a similar professional spray environment.
