Job Description

Overview The Production Supervisor is responsible for hiring, training, communication of staffing and operational needs, and performance management of production and support personnel on 2nd shift. This position schedules and oversees production activity, usually through a group of lead operators, and is accountable for implementing process improvements, maintaining a safe and productive workforce, and supporting product quality. The Production Supervisor also coordinates cross-functionally with maintenance, quality, and engineering to support plant goals. This position is assigned to 2nd shift , with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Candidates must be available to work this shift. Responsibilities Ensure and enforce plant safety regulations, regulatory controls, policies, and procedures Lead high-speed manufacturing activity and maintain a high level of equipment uptime Hire, develop, train, and monitor production, technical, and support personnel Run Tier meetings and Leader Standard Work, ensure action items are assigned, followed up, and closed Manage timecards, payroll-related issues, attendance, formal problem solving, and the disciplinary process in accordance with Rain Bird policy Drive 5S, scrap reduction, quality root-cause corrective action, and Lean continuous improvement activities Coordinate cross-functionally with maintenance, quality, engineering, and other support departments to resolve production issues Monitor productivity, reduce scrap and downtime, and support daily execution to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals Ensure accurate and efficient communication between departments, shifts, and production personnel Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BS or BA degree in business or technical discipline 3+ years' manufacturing supervision experience Experienced with 5S and Lean tools Excellent interpersonal and strong communication skills Enthusiastic self-starter and excellent team player
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Graduate degree in business or technical discipline. Project Management experience in a seasonal business Highly flexible and creative with the ability to succeed in a very dynamic environment. Experience with UKG and Oracle systems #LI-Onsite Rain Bird is an Equal Opportunity Employer
