Job Title:
Production Supervisor Overtime after 45 hours.
Job Description:
Summary/Objective:
The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing shop employees in a steel processing production plant . This role involves planning and assigning work, recommending improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures, and working conditions to ensure efficient and high-quality production processes.
Essential Functions:
Employee Management:
Ensure effective employee relations by providing coaching and development. Make employment decisions and resolve employee issues through problem resolution.
Performance Balance:
Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results. Work towards continuous improvement in all areas.
Departmental Performance:
Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls, and provide regular progress reports to the manager.
Output Optimization:
Maximize machine and employee output while minimizing downtime to meet company profit objectives.
Inventory Management:
Oversee the preservation and handling of finished goods and work-in-progress (WIP) inventories.
Quality Standards:
Promote and maintain company quality standards throughout every process.
Inventory Levels:
Maintain appropriate inventory levels.
Priority Management:
Manage departmental priorities effectively.
Absenteeism Tracking:
Track absenteeism and timekeeping for employees.
Safety Meetings:
Conduct weekly safety meetings with employees and maintain a safe working environment.

Work Environment:
The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and varying temperatures (hot and cold). The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Full-time position.
Hours:
Monday through Friday, 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., 60 hours per week. Overtime after 45 hours. Occasional weekend work may be required.
Travel:
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred Experience:
3-5 years of experience in a production environment. 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and industrial skills are a plus. Previous experience working with steel is a plus.

$55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
