Job Description

Job Summary The Welding Supervisor - 2nd Shift is responsible for overseeing welding operations during the second shift to ensure production goals, quality standards, and safety requirements are met. This role provides hands-on leadership to welders and fabrication staff, coordinates workflow, resolves production issues, and ensures compliance with company policies and industry standards. Key Responsibilities Supervise and lead welding personnel during 2nd shift operations Ensure production schedules and output targets are met Monitor weld quality and ensure compliance with welding procedures (WPS), blueprints, and specifications Enforce safety policies, PPE requirements, and OSHA standards Assign work, balance workloads, and manage shift staffing Train, coach, and mentor welders and new employees Conduct shift start-up meetings and communicate production priorities Inspect work-in-process and finished weldments for quality and accuracy Troubleshoot welding, equipment, and workflow issues Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance as needed Complete production reports, shift handoff notes, and documentation Support continuous improvement, 5S, and lean manufacturing initiatives Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred 5+ years of welding experience (MIG, TIG, Stick, Flux-Core as applicable) Prior supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing environment preferred Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and specifications Strong knowledge of welding processes, materials, and quality standards Familiarity with safety regulations and OSHA requirements Basic computer skills (production reporting, email, scheduling) Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, and work on the production floor for extended periods Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with heat, noise, and welding fumes
Pay:
$36.00 per hour
