is a precision CNC manufacturer under new management, rebuilding our operations from the ground up. We're looking for a Machine Shop Supervisor to lead our machinists and operators through that transformation — someone who can own the floor, hold the line on quality and tight tolerances, and help shape how this shop runs for the long haul. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing the full production floor, reporting directly to the Production Manager. Responsibilities Supervise day-to-day operations across the full machine shop floor Own daily scheduling and manpower planning to keep production on track Train, mentor, and lead machine operators — raising the skill level and accountability of the team Enforce safety protocols and standards across the shop floor at all times Ensure parts meet quality and precision requirements in accordance with the provided drawings Step in on the machines occasionally when the floor needs it (working supervisor, not purely hands-off) Coordinate with purchasing, engineering, and other departments to keep jobs and materials flowing smoothly Champion modern shop-floor practices — help evaluate and roll out new tools, technology, and methods Enforce preventive maintenance schedules on all CNC machines to minimize downtime and extend equipment life Maintain accurate production records, tooling inventories, and shop documentation Troubleshoot production issues in real time and keep jobs moving Qualifications 5+ years of CNC machining experience required CNC programming/coding experience with Haas and Fanuc controllers required Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Production, or Manufacturing preferred, or equivalent strong hands-on work experience in lieu of a degree Certificates/coursework from accredited institutions like NTMA-U are a plus Strong working knowledge of machine shop operations, scheduling, and quality practices Ability to lead, train, and hold a team accountable on the floor Genuine interest in staying current with new technology, tooling, and industry best practices Experience with lean manufacturing or workflow improvement methods (e.g. 5S) is a plus
