Job Description
ELG Utica Alloys is one of the world's leading specialists in revert management for the aerospace industry, and high-performance alloys and metals. With 15 facilities in 10 countries, and over 50 years of experience, we provide our customers with best in class service and value. We are seeking a safety conscious full time Production Supervisor with an Industrial Manufacturing background for our Hartford location. Qualified candidate will be an energetic self-starter with 3-5 years previous relevant supervisory experience in a unionized industrial manufacturing facility. This is an exempt position scheduled 40+ hours per week. 2nd shift hours are 2PM Monday night
- 11PM Friday night. Training would be required on 1st shift for approximately 8 weeks (Monday
- Friday, 06:30 am
- 2:30 pm).

401k will automatically begin with 4% pretax deductions on the first pay date of the month following 30 days of employment. We will match 50% of your contribution up to 4% and provide 1% profit sharing.JOB DESCRIPTION
The ELG Utica Alloys Production Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating and monitoring all shift personnel and equipment in order to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective production processes. This individual will be responsible for coordinating and communicating with supervisors on other shifts to ensure all workflow runs smoothly.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsible for ensuring/promoting safety within ELG facility. Schedule, monitor, coach, and discipline employees as needed. Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process. Complete other related duties and projects as required by scheduling and assigning personnel, accomplishing work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, resolving problems and reporting results of the process flow on shift production summaries. Enforce organization standards and codes of conduct. Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of equipment and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures. Maintains working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. Responsible for training of personnel under their supervision. Responsible for ensuring all quality standards within their department are upheld.COMPETENCIES
Bachelor's degree in Production, Supply Chain or Business-related field preferred 3-5 years supervision experience in a manufacturing environment Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing systems and concepts Strong communication skills Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word Self-starter with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities Organizational skills involved with process flow. Experience with unions preferredSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Supervises Bargaining Unit employees.WORK ENVIRONMENT
This is a hands-on position and will work both in an office and factory setting. Factory requires use of PPE (Safety Glasses / Safety Shoes / earplugs) and environmental conditions vary. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration as it is necessary to walk the shop floor.PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday night through Friday night, 2pm- 11pm.
