Job Description

Job Description The Supervisor will manage all operations within the manufacturing department for an assigned shift. The role includes hiring, developing, and overseeing a skilled technical team, and developing training methods and processes. Collaborating with the Manufacturing Manager and leadership team, the supervisor will use technical expertise to manufacture complex machined components and assemblies, implement plant objectives, and support facility policies, programs, and procedures. Key Responsibilities Oversee the daily review of jobs, work orders, and routings, ensuring accurate labor corrections and job completions. Develop departmental workflow and collaborate with Scheduling/Planning to prioritize jobs. Supervise the inspection of machined parts to meet quality standards. Conduct LDM processes and meetings, compiling and analyzing metrics, KPIs, and operational information for LDM Boards. Facilitate problem-solving sessions to address operational and technical issues, determine root causes, and implement permanent corrective actions. Evaluate KPIs and support changes to exceed operating system objectives. Mentor and train department personnel on Lean, 5S, and continuous improvement principles. Sponsor and foster continuous improvement projects. Develop and maintain a standardized training process for department personnel, ensuring consistent training on all manufacturing processes. Schedule work for machining centers and personnel, anticipating and resolving resource bottlenecks. Oversee scheduling and tracking of machining, polishing, fitting, inspection, and assembly processes. Evaluate parts for readiness and fit alignment. Collaborate with Programmers to develop methods for parts and assemblies and schedule job releases. Work with external vendors for quotes on stripping and plating and new parts after method completion. Provide updates on machining status, project milestones, and delivery timelines. Qualifications/Skills Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive job responsibilities in a manufacturing setting. At least three (3) years of supervisory experience. Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings, parts, and specifications. Familiarity with CNC machine tool operating procedures and CNC programming experience in a manufacturing environment. Strong problem-solving skills with both individual and collaborative approaches. Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office 365 and production software. Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Epicor. Effective communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
