Job Description Summary:
The Installation Manager is responsible for leading Pinpoint's installation department and ensuring installation work is planned, staffed, prepared, executed, and closed out safely, efficiently, and to Pinpoint standards. This is a department management role centered on scheduling, team leadership and development, installation readiness, logistics, vehicle and equipment readiness, quality control, and accountability across vinyl graphics, signage, environmental branding, event activations, and other Pinpoint projects. This manager must have strong hands-on installation knowledge and be capable of stepping into complex or client critical installations when needed, including travel for select projects. Success, however, is measured by the performance of the entire installation team, not by how much work the manager personally installs. This role does not own fabrication and is not intended to function as a full-time installer. The Installation Manager works closely with Project Management, Production, Print, Fabrication, Purchasing, and Technical Design to ensure crews arrive on site with a clear plan and the right people, vehicles, tools, materials, equipment, and information needed to execute.
What You'll Do:
Lead the installation department through clear priorities, schedules, standards, coaching, follow-up, and accountability. Build and manage installation schedules across projects, crews, travel, vehicles, equipment, nights, and weekends, while providing clear status and capacity updates to Project Management and Production. Review upcoming installations early to confirm scope, site conditions, crew needs, access, lifts, hardware, tools, materials, packing, travel, and other jobsite requirements. Own installation logistics from pre-planning through closeout, including crew assignments, loading, transportation, site readiness, execution, punch lists, and return of tools and materials. Maintain department vehicles, tools, and equipment through readiness checks, organization, inventory control, routine maintenance, and timely service. Train, coach, and develop installers so the team becomes more capable, consistent, and less dependent on one individual. Maintain visibility into skill levels, certifications, and training needs. Establish and enforce installation standards, checklists, and quality control. Conduct quality checks before crews leave the shop, during critical installations, and at project closeout. Conduct or coordinate site surveys, field measurements, photos, access reviews, lift requirements, surface conditions, and safety considerations, then communicate findings clearly to the project team. Lead selected complex, high-visibility, or client-critical installations when experienced field leadership is needed, including travel as required. Enforce safe work practices and jobsite requirements, including OSHA standards, PPE, lift procedures, fall protection, and company safety expectations, while using lessons learned to improve department systems and execution.
What Success Looks Like:
Installation schedules are visible, realistic, and updated early enough for Project Management, Production, and crews to plan effectively. Crews arrive prepared with the right plan, people, materials, tools, equipment, vehicles, and site information. Vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment are organized, maintained, and ready for work. Installation quality is consistent, issues are caught earlier, and jobs close out cleanly with fewer callbacks and last-minute surprises. The installation team grows in capability through training, coaching, and clear accountability, reducing dependence on the manager personally completing the work. Complex installations are executed safely, professionally, on time, and with strong client and venue coordination. Skills and requirements needed to succeed: 5+ years of relevant installation experience in large-format graphics, vinyl, signage, environmental branding, experiential activations, or similar work. 3+ years of management experience leading crews, scheduling work, training employees, and holding team members accountable. Strong working knowledge of vinyl application, signage installation, mounting methods, hardware, lifts, access, and jobsite planning. Proven ability to manage multiple crews and projects at once, balance changing priorities, and make practical staffing and logistics decisions. Experience with site surveys, installation decks and drawings, field measurements, and translating project information into clear execution plans. Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively across Project Management, Production, and other departments. Avery, 3M, or similar graphics installation certification is preferred. Willingness to travel for select projects and work nights or weekends when project requirements demand it. Ability to work comfortably at elevation and lift 60 lbs. OSHA 10 Certified, lift operator certified, and DOT medical card, with a clean driving record and the ability to drive company vehicles.
