Assembly Production Supervisor needed for growing Bradenton sporting goods manufacturer. We are looking for a hands-on leader to oversee the day-to-day operations of our final assembly department. This role is responsible for keeping production moving safely, efficiently, and to our quality standards while developing and supporting the people doing the work. This is a highly visible, floor-focused leadership position. The Assembly Production Supervisor will spend the majority of their day in the Assembly area—coordinating people and production lines, coaching employees, identifying problems, and ensuring our established processes and standards are being followed. As SeaSucker continues to implement Lean Manufacturing principles, this person will also play an important role in building a culture of standard work, 5S, single-piece flow, visual management, continuous improvement, and accountability. Responsibilities Lead Daily Assembly Operations Lead a short daily assembly production huddle to align the team on priorities, staffing, production goals, quality concerns, and known issues. Determine daily staffing requirements and assign employees across production lines based on the production schedule, workload, and employee skill levels. Adjust staffing and balance work between production lines throughout the day as conditions change. Monitor production progress and maintain the department's visual schedule/status board. Respond quickly to production interruptions, quality concerns, material shortages, and other abnormalities, escalating issues when additional support is required. Coordinate breaks and coverage to maintain production flow. Confirm each production line is fully 'Ready to Run' by verifying that work orders are ready, BOMs are correct, required materials and packaging are available, and current work instructions and quality documentation are in place. Partner with the production coordinator, material handler, and other departments to resolve readiness issues before they create downtime for assembly employees. Ensure lines are properly set up with work instructions, travelers, in-process quality documentation, fixtures, tools, and other required resources. Lead & Develop the Team Provide daily leadership, coaching, and direction to assembly technicians and line leads. Train and onboard new assembly employees. Maintain an employee skills matrix and identify opportunities for cross-training across products and production lines. Provide timely feedback and address performance, attendance, behavioral, and disciplinary issues when necessary. Build a team culture that combines accountability with respect, teamwork, problem solving, and continuous improvement. Help develop strong assembly technicians into future line leads and other future leadership opportunities. Maintain Quality & Standard Work Verify employees are following established standard work and current work instructions. Reinforce quality-at-the-source by encouraging employees to identify, stop, and escalate questionable work rather than passing defects to the next operation. Work with Line Leads to confirm first-piece quality and maintain quality throughout production runs. Perform routine layered process audits to verify adherence to standard work, quality requirements, 5S, material presentation, and production flow. Identify recurring process deviations and escalate opportunities for corrective action or continuous improvement. Drive Flow & Workplace Organization Maintain the Assembly department's established 5S standards and physical organization. Monitor production flow and identify bottlenecks, excessive WIP, waiting, unnecessary movement, and other forms of waste. Keep work balanced between employees and production lines to support single-piece flow wherever practical. Partner with Operations leadership on improvements to layouts, fixtures, work standards, visual controls, and other Lean manufacturing initiatives. What Success Looks Like The Assembly Production Supervisor will be successful when: Employees begin their work with the materials, information, tools, and instructions they need. Production lines run with minimal waiting and unnecessary downtime. Production is completed according to the established schedule. Standard work is consistently followed. Quality issues are identified and addressed at the source. Employees understand their responsibilities and receive regular coaching and feedback. Team members are increasingly cross-trained across product families. The Assembly area remains clean, organized, and visually managed. Production problems are identified quickly and escalated before they become larger problems. The team actively participates in improving how work gets done. Qualifications We're looking for someone who is comfortable being both a leader of people & production.

Preferred qualifications include:

3+ years of experience in manufacturing, assembly, production, or a similar operational environment. Previous experience as a Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor, Team Lead, Line Lead, or similar frontline leadership role. Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and hold employees accountable. Experience coordinating production schedules, staffing, and daily workload. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond calmly and effectively when production does not go according to plan. Experience working with standard work, work instructions, production documentation, and quality requirements. Strong organizational and communication skills. Comfortable working with production metrics and visual management tools. Basic computer proficiency and ability to work with manufacturing/ERP systems. Those with experience in Lean manufacturing, Toyota Production System concepts, 5S, Kanban, single-piece flow, SQDC, layered process audits, or other continuous improvement systems are strongly encouraged to apply.

Benefits:

Pay rate ranges from $26-32 per hour. Raises based on performance are assessed yearly. 11 Days Paid Vacation and 3 Days of Paid Sick/Personal Leave (after 90 days employment) Health, dental, and eye insurance available.
