Role Overview The Sr Manufacturing Quality Leader leads a team of Quality professionals supporting GE Aerospace's Avionics business in Clearwater, Florida, and has primary responsibility in Original Equipment (OE) manufacturing and Aftermarket production. This leader owns Quality Assurance and Quality Control for the production system, driving improvements to ensure capable, qualified processes. FLIGHT DECK
(Lean) principles and executes strategic quality initiatives aligned to business KPIs around Safety, Quality, and Delivery. Roles and Responsibilities Lead and develop a team of Quality Engineers and Quality professionals responsible for product and process quality of avionics hardware. Coach and mentor team members and cross-functional partners to improve problem-solving capabilities, including effective RCCA through structured methods. Provide strong organizational leadership, setting clear expectations, role clarity, and priorities that align with business objectives and key quality, safety, and delivery metrics. Apply systems-thinking to understand end-to-end value streams, identify systemic issues, and drive integrated solutions across Operations, Engineering, Materials, and Supplier Quality. Create, standardize, and improve business processes (e.g., control plans, approval workflows, escalation paths) to enhance consistency, compliance, and efficiency. Provide coaching and training on quality tools, zero-defect culture, and standard work; maintain strong shop-floor engagement and presence. Your team will ensure manufacturing and assembly processes are capable, qualified, and compliant with drawings, specifications, and regulatory/customer requirements. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 9 years of experience in Manufacturing and/or Production) Minimum 5 years of experience directly leading people in Manufacturing Quality roles Minimum of 3 years of experience in assembly or related production environments (electronics/PCBA experience preferred) This position requires US Citizenship status Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of experience in Electronics assembly, ideally printed circuit board assembly (PCBA) Ability to work in a self-directed, fast-paced team environment and perform effectively under pressure Strong technical background in electronics manufacturing, assembly, and inspection Proficiency with RCCA, FMEAs, control plans, MSA, FAI, capability studies, inspection methods and mistake-proofing Experience with aerospace or high-reliability electronics quality systems Experience with Lean Manufacturing (FLIGHT DECK) Experience in highly regulated industries, specifically Aerospace, with practical experience interfacing with regulators including FAA, EASA, and CAAC Proven change agent with high shop-floor engagement and strong influence across functions Excellent oral communication, written communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to work with a broad range of stakeholders Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement, data-driven decision making, and use of digital solutions Aligns with GE Aerospace values: humble, transparent, focused, strong leadership This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information.
